Post Re: Top 10 of 2013
Very strong year. #s 1 through 5 would be in my all time 100.

1. Her
2. Gravity IMAX 3D
3. Enough Said
4. In a World...
5. The Spectacular Now
6. All is Lost
7. Hunger Games: Catching Fire
8. Ender's Game
9. The Bling Ring
10. The Way, Way Back

Honestly if I removed the preceding ten from 'competition,' I'd have a perfectly serviceable alternate Top-10.

1. Wolf of Wall Street
2. Don Jon
3. Before Midnight
4. Side Effects
5. This is the End
6. Trance
7. Oblivion / Pacific Rim
8. The World's End
9. Spring Breakers
10. (guilty pleasure slot) Beautiful Creatures / One Direction: This is Us

Other Honorable Mentions:

American Hustle
Dallas Buyers Club
Frozen
The Great Gatsby
The Kings of Summer
Mud
Prince Avalanche
Rush

Your Top 10 are pretty awful. I'd use your perfectly serviceable alternate Top-10 if I were you.

I really need to watch 12 Years A Slave. I have no excuses. I own the film! But I also own another 69 others that could compete with it for viewing time.

This honestly made me laugh out loud. Thanks for the advice! But I like what I like, fool :)

Honestly, I have trouble "ranking" these things.... ultimately, what's the point? Movie viewing is so subjective, even within the experience of an individual. The whole list & ranking thing is masturbatory. But, I suppose like masturbation, it's fun and 'rewarding.'

I actually agree. On Monday, I prefer one film, on Tuesday I prefer the other. My Top 10 could actually change over the course of a month depending on my mood.
