Re: David Bowie dies at 69
This is almost unfathomable. The words "David Bowie is dead" feel entirely unreal. I know there is often a cynical reaction of, "People die all the time, and it is not as if you knew this famous person," but I am incredibly sad.

He was the fucking GOAT. Huge loss.
I always used to wonder whether I would cry when Bowie died. I haven't teared up, yet. But I can't bring myself to listen to Bowie music right now.

This and Robin Williams have been the most painful ones for me and I'm not even a huge regular listener of his music. Everything about Bowie felt like he had more life than the rest of us. He is an inspiration to everyone who wants to be an artist or just wants to live with the greatest spirit they can. A true treasure of the human race

Fuck. This is big.
When you're young and older celebrities die, it feels like it's not a big deal, but as you yourself get older, the celebs that start dying are the ones that have had a bigger impact on your life. This just feels important, and I'm hardly a Bowie fan.

Can't get out of bed? Jesus. His songs are still available, you know. And your memories with your uncle are also fully in tact. Actually, absolutely nothing has changed because he's died. It's big news, but it is stupid to say it's affected you like a relative dying would do.

My wife woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me the news. She knows how much I love him and his music. What a gut punch.

@CJane87 has a Bowie playlist for Spotify. 29 hours. Get to it.

When I saw the thread title I thought 'man, he really practiced sexual positions to the extreme'.

RIP. I listened to some of his songs and saw some of his movies. And many musicians I liked claimed Bowie influenced them most. But to form an image of him based on his artistic works, I could not. I just need to know more about him. What Bowie songs or movies do you think were most representative of him?

So it turns out that "Blackstar" and the video for it have a special meaning. I instead played this song today.
