Re: The James Cameron Reign is Over I think a sense of new technology and "we've never seen this before" contributed to Avatar's success. There's no way he can concoct the same feeling for its sequel. And as we've seen with films that do mother-of-God well, their sequels often make less (TDKR, AOTC, ESB, JP2 etc.). So, while "never underestimate Cameron" is definitely in play, so are lots of other factors. It will most likely drop. Like 95% likely.
