12th WOKJ MPA Awards - Nominations announcement TONIGHT!
Will Mad Max: Fury Road take home the prize or maybe Inside Out? Let's find out! Also, please, read the rules and the procedure before voting, m'kay?Voting Process:Send me your five nominees for each category below. What is important is that you RANK your nominees from #1 to #5 because of the points system. UNRANKED BALLOTS will NOT be counted. If you cannot come up with five nominees for each category, then send me less, but I would REALLY prefer if you all tried to come up with 5 for each category. The Categories:Best Picture (only five nominees here) Best Director Best Actor Best Actress Best Supporting Actor Best Supporting Actress Best Ensemble Best Original Screenplay Best Adapted Screenplay Best Animated Feature Best Documentary Best Foreign Language Film Best Cinematography Best Editing Best Original Score Best Original Song Best Makeup Best Visual Effects Best Art Direction Best Costume Design Breakthrough of the Year (before or behind the camera) Best Sound Best Horror Film of the Year Funniest Comedy of the Year- Best Foreign Language Film and Best Documentary categories: to be nominated a film has to appear on at least three ballots. A mimimum of three films (each) need to reach that threshold for the category to be active. Also, as before, if less than ten people vote in either of these categories, the category will also be skipped. DEADLINE: Wednesday, January 27th, midnight PST Send the RANKED ballot to me before the deadline!DON'T FORGET TO RANK THE NOMINEES FROM 1 to 5!You are allowed to change/upgrade your ballot until the deadline. If you do so, send me the entire corrected ballot, not just the corrected category. Important: Do not vote for any movies that you have NOT seen. If I have a grounded suspicion that this is the case, I will call you out on that. Click here for the FYC ThreadClick here for the Categories Clarification Thread

Inside Out, Fury Road, or The Force Awakens. I cannot see any other winner of BP.

I don't think the live for Force Awakens besides from a few fanboys is near Inside Out or Mad Max. I think people like The Martian better.

It's uber-box office might go against it, sure. But it is still very popular. Not everyone on this forum is as sophisticated as me. There are some people (like Lecter and BJ) that unashamedly like trash. Those are the people that will vote for The Force Awakens.

I haven't seen TFA yet actually, so I'll wait to put in my ballot at least until after seeing that one, and probably till the last week anyway trying to catch up on as much as possible. The Revenant I probably unfortunately will not see in time. Currently I'd be happy with either The Martian or Everest for BP. Do you have any plans to see Everest this month btw?

Yeah Force has no chance at winning BP, but it should get nominated. There aren't any shoe-ins after the big two. Daisey Ridley is gonna be the big one for Star Wars. I don't think enough people will see Carol, and KJ favorite Emily Blunt has such a nothing role in Sicario that she won't win either. Her only competition is Theron.

Probably going to be really tough. Don't see it coming out anywhere near China this month. Dr. Lecter wrote: Do not vote for any movies that you have NOT seen. If I have a grounded suspicion that this is the case, I will call you out on that. Would love for this to become an issue

It wouldn't be a problem if everyone used the Best of 2015 thread. Sucks for Creed. But you got money, come to America for a week.

If I suspect that, I will ask the person or if my suspicion is really well-grounded (happened before), I will simply not count these votes.

Don't have my hopes up yet though, and not sure if it's still playing frequently enough then and might not make the deadline in time also. Btw. is it OK to send the ballot spread out over several PM's, or per category?

There was the possibility of me going to Germany for a business trip at the end of January with my new company, but that's no longer happening (going to North China instead . So I cannot and will note vote for it. It's no big deal. I'm pretty sure nobody cares if Creed is nominated for a KJ award. The Oscars are all that matters.

I only have two best song choices. Can we nominate pieces from our favorite scores? The academy doesn't let them in but I think we are better. I have 3 in mind to easily fill out my ballot.

I never submit because most of the movies are never out in time here.
