Psy's video has retained some audience as a viral phenomenon. Adele's Hello won't be getting 1m in views/ day in a few months. Its popularity on Spotify is already dwindling.

Hello will be getting bumps from new singles, Adele's tour, etc. Come next Christmas 25 will sell like hotcakes again and people will watch Hello.

Looking at Gagnam Style's stats on Youtube it has long lost it's novelty. There will be no bumps for it in the future. From what I can tell it is getting about 400,000 views a day. About where Rolling in the Deep eventually settled. Considering Hello is way bigger than RITD it should have no problem setting at a bigger daily view number once it flattens out on stats chart.

It's holding better than Gangnam so far (the viral thing is just the opposite) and videos like it have been at a million or two for a year or two (after starting at a stable 3-6 mil a day early on). They usually hold steady for a bit, then drop, and then level out again.

To be fair Gangnam had yet to peak.

More then double Blank Space's 3 month total. Triple all but a handful of videos. Even if it holds like Wrecking Ball it will get to 2.5 bil. But most videos like it get at least 3-4 times their 3 month totals (3-4 bil).

In a day See You Again takes 2nd place from Blank Space and crosses 1.5b. Blank Space will follow tomorrow. Hello should be there before May. 2nd place won't happen until deep into the summer though. It's pace is clearly good enough to be within perhaps 500m of 1st by the end of the year.
