 SW7 Monday predictions
So Disney says $48.8m, rival studios see around $55m and RTH agrees that Disney lowballed Sunday... Where do you see SW7's Monday? And here's a look at the drops 6 years ago when the holidays fell on the same dates as this year: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/daily/char ... -21&p=.htm

It'll destroy the Monday record... Can it get the Tuesday record, though?

I hope it goes as low as possible. This movie will set the precedent for how front loaded it is possible for a film to be at this time of year.

What I've always found remarkable on Dec 21, 2009, is that Avatar didn't even have close to best decline. Were the snowstorms still having an impact on the BO at that point?

 Re: SW7 Monday predictions
40m+ looking like a possibility, on pace for 20+ sellouts again today here, only thing in its way is 20 less showings.

There were 3 snowstorms that impacted three of Avatar's weekends: 2 on the East Coast and one in the Midwest. I think it was The 1st, 2nd, and 6th weekend, but that is just how I remember it.

Hmm, based on the past, fantastic Sunday holds for well received blockbusters tend to correlate with fantastic Monday holds. If films in general behave the same way as in '09, TFA could be looking at a sub 25% drop today. I... think I will remain more conservative and go with $38M.

 Re: SW7 Monday predictions
I must be missing something, because to me it looks like a hybrid of DH2 and Avatar. The holiday and extended previews are messing with people's perceptions of what is real and holiday artifact.
