Dear God. This is guaranteed a $250+ million OW then? And a $900+ million total I suppose. Dear God.

 Re: Early Friday Numbers
I have to think Disney is considering moving episode 8 to December now. Avatar should be considered no threat at this point.

HOLY SHIT.
but... I thought people were busy shopping? I thought the below-25 demo won't watch Star Wars? but it can't make this much in December, right?

You can still use the 40th Anniversary angle in December. Worked wonders for Skyfall's 50th in November, where Dr. No opened in May.

$4.5m-$6m Sisters $4m-6m Alvin 4 that seems decent for both considering the mammoth SW is.

That's how Wonder Woman will feel when her movie can't even open within 50 million of SW first day.

Star wars puts all franchises to shame in popularity.
I will remain calm, but is this already past 100 million today?

The thing to watch is with the amount of presales could see evening numbers slow down some what )

The thing to watch is with the amount of presales could see evening numbers slow down some what ) I think we are looking at something like this #. I am really rusty and I have not been sampling theaters since reserved seating became the norm, but the tickets in the evening are not selling at all. 7-10 pm shows have been 90-95% since the afternoon. I think Tysons AMC has sold 10-15 tickets for the post 5 pm show since 4:30. Is this the new normal for blockbusters, not actually selling out?

 Re: Early Friday Numbers
With reserved seating shows expanding, people just buy tickets well in advance.
Why pay premium for the show and sit in the front if you can go to another one tomorrow or go to a 2D or3D show instead

Re: Early Friday Numbers (Update Page 3)
I think the 145 number was to absurd.
Think it will end around 115-120 in the end.

I will check in on those shows later and see if they pick up.

 Re: Early Friday Numbers
So this just shat on any December impacting BO concerns. Though this is kind of a special case. I've never seen a film so talked about in daily life over the last week as this one has. Unprecedented. And from that alone you can see this smashing Avatar for No.1 of all time.
Soooo awesome. Couldn't be happier. Looks like those 600m before year end predictions were spot on.
And this now certainly guarantees 11b for the year and hopefully more like 11.2b.
