 Re: November 25-29 Predictions
There is no way in hell TGD would do sub 60 over a normal 3-day.

Are you honestly telling me Frozen and TS2 did well just because they opened limited?

 Re: November 25-29 Predictions
The Good Dinosaur just feels like a non-event. There isn't even any buzz if it's any good and it's coming out in 3 days.

 Re: November 25-29 Predictions
Interesting. So people are predicting lower OW than even Brave. This despite it having no competition for family(peanuts is just making peanuts now), Pixar having among the most loyal fan base and it being thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Pixar movies are mostly underestimated here at KJ. So this wont be surprise either.

 Re: November 25-29 Predictions
Pixar is a way bigger brand name than Disney, there's no reason this shouldn't match Frozens opening.

 Re: November 25-29 Predictions
Frozen appealed to generations of people who grew up with classic musical Disney princess movies, had a successful song and great marketing.

 Re: November 25-29 Predictions
Creed is a really good position. It can take advantage of the nostalgic atmosphere while being different enough from SW to attract people who are sick of hearing about it. I think it gets near $45m for the 5 day and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see it go higher. It's definitely gonna be the movie people are buzzing about.

 Re: November 25-29 Predictions
Pixar films benefit from their event status. This is the first time Pixar is releasing a movie less than a year after the previous one. Inside Out sucked up a lot of that "event" buzz.
This should still do well, but I don't think it will launch to nearly the numbers Frozen did in 2013.

It wasn't until the great reviews rolled in anyone gave a crap. The only thing The Good Dinosaur doesn't have going for it is amazing spectacular reviews, the reviews are good though. Cars opened to the equivalent of 77 million over a non holiday three day with weaker reviews, absolutely no way this does that much worse than that did.
