 The Most Underrated albums.
Which for you are the most underrated albums? There are some great albums that dont get the respect they deserve.
Pop by U2:I consider this their best album, but for some reason this album was blasted when it first came out. They have some of their greatest songs like staring at the sun, discoteque and If God Will Send His Angels. This is a great departure for them, with them playing new sounds that they have never played, some great techno mixed with rock, pop and everything in between.

The songs are good, the production is ass.
Apparently they think so too, because most of the album, in some form or another has been remixed.
I mean the non-album version of Please just rocks.

I might as well say it before Michael says it:
Vanessa Carlton: Harmonium.
Terrific songs, and a huge improvement in Be Not Nobody. It was just handled horribly by the record company and was not given any buzz whatsoever.
I also feel that Kelly Clarkson's Thankful is a bit underated. Some people felt it was successful PRIMARILY because she won Idol, but the album was terrific. The songs were co-written by Ms.Clarkson herself, and its always a nice listen when I occasionally pop it in the CD player.

Nine Lives by Aerosmith. Ok the lyrics aren't the best, but it's not definitely the horrible album everyone was talking about.
Nine Lives, Fallin In Love, Hole In My Soul, Taste Of India, Fallen Angels, Ain't That A Bitch, Pink, Attitude Adjustment, and Falling Off are all excellent tracks.
Actually that was album that got me into Aerosmith. I remember i went to the record shop wanting to buy Pop by U2 ( i loved discotheque very much ), but it was sold out, so i bought Nine Lives instead. After that Aerosmith became my second favorite group of all time ( after GNR ), and i bought all their albums after that.

Madonna- American Life
such an underrated album. Sure it flopped, and got bad reviews, and everybody panned it, but I loved it. I thought it was a great album. It should of did a lot better, and its one of my favorite albums by her behind Ray Of Light, and Immaculate Collection.

Kenna - "New Sacred Cow"
Mainly its underrated cause not many people have heard of Kenna. But it might be the best debut album ever.

I really like almost all of the albums listed in this thread (sorry U2:Pop and Aerosmith:Nine Lives, although I really like If God Will Send His Angels). Switchfoot, Vanessa Carlton, and Madonna are all make my top five of their respective years. And Kenna and Kelly Clarkson are really good as well. Sorry U2 - Pop and Aerosmith - Nine Lives, though I do like the songs "If God Will Send His Angels" and "Pink."
some other underrated albums:
Smashing Pumpkins - Adore
Weezer - Make Believe
Green Day - Warning
M2M - Shades of Purple
