 Star Wars 7 (INTL)
Pre-sales here in Germany are going through the roof...
I think the 14 year old opening weekend record of HP1 (2.6m admissions) is in play...

 Re: Star Wars 7 (INTL)
The Mathäser movie theater in Munich offers 5 midnights already, 3 of them are 90 % full, 2 were just added... The Cinecitta theater in Nuremberg now has added a 5th midnight as well... Re: Star Wars 7 (INTL)
2m admissions in its ow would almost assure a 100m gross, right? if this happens then i think this is a lock for 2 billion worldwide.

 Re: Star Wars 7 (INTL)
2m admissions would translate into a $24m opening, 2.6m admissions = $31.5m, so yeah, $100m is certainly in the cards - even with the currently lousy exchange rate...

 Re: Star Wars 7 (INTL)
Hmm, I dunno, looking back, when I followed the presales of my local theatres, Harry Potter 4 seemed on about the same level.

 Re: Star Wars 7 (INTL)
ROTS did 450+ million in 2005 without 3D expanding markets and China.
So I think 800 million is a good floor?

So I think 800 million is a good floor? Yes, I think. Novelty will be much stronger overseas than in us,

From Village Roadshow in Australia:
"There's no doubt that movie buffs around the world are itching with anticipation for the new Star Wars movie to arrive on December 17 this year. The Village Cinemas team is gearing up for one of their busiest seasons on record with the film set to reach its first million before it's even released! Get your tickets, you must."

 Re: Star Wars 7 (INTL)
Star Wars isn't as big over here like it is in the west, but it could totally take over. The Chinese do love big popular blockbusters. But as it's around Christmas it will have to compete with whatever crap Jackie Chan is releasing. Well, actually, it will probably come out around February (Chinese New Year or just after), so it will most likely make nothing because everyone will be back to work - it would not surprise me if the government made this play, especially as (I assume) it has no involvement from Chinese investors etc.
