Local news out of Hartford referring to how the store apparently had ropes out and extra staff and such for the midnight release of the toys, expecting big lines of people...but instead only got about a dozen or so during the two hours they were open with 6 of them having camped out.

I am stronggggggggly feeling that the buzz with normal, mainstream 20-35 years is extremely average for this movie. STAR WARS brand just isn't "cool" whatsoever any more due to age of originals and shitty quality of prequels, but it isn't "fresh" either because the shitty prequels are so relevant and the brand never really goes away ala Superman. It will be a big hit but barring otherwordly reviews and marketing, anything over $125m OW would be totally shocking to me.

More interesting to me is who people are going to blame when the film is a big hit but dramatically under performs expectations much like The Hobbit did 3 year ago. I hope it's not Abrams.

MovieGeek went to the midnight release at a Target here in AZ. It looked packed to me.

And I am sure midnight theaters will be packed too with some being especially fanboy mobbed. The point is GENERAL audiences don't give a fuck about this movie, and make up 95% of it's audience outside of the 5% die hard fanboys.

That'll still be more than enough to pass Man of Steel in 10 days

;)

:funny: Lucas's Morning Routine: Return of the Shit, Shower, Shave. :funny:

Yah I would watch that sure :funny: I'm a diehard fan, it's what we do.

I don't know what I want to collect. The infinity figures or the funko figures. Probably will go infinity since they actually look cooler and you can play a game with them. I did see that Chewbacca thing plush toy that made noise and it was listed as 100$. That can't be right. I do like all the Legos things but god damn Legos are like gold. That cost is like 80% brand.

I think it will end up in the 125-150 range. Sub 125 would shock me. But anything significantly more than 150 would shock me far more.

I just started collecting Funko Pop figures. So far I have just the unmasked Darth Vader. It's pretty cool!
I plan on getting all the OT's & ST's first before getting started on the PT's.

The midnight release of the toys seems to have impressed from what I've read/seen. I'm not a toy collector outside of the toys-to-life market, but I've come across the Star Wars toys 'Force Friday' event news/videos/pictures as a result.

There seems to have been some wide-spread stock issues, mainly at Toys "R" Us, but there are many videos and reports of up to 100 people or more at many retailers across the country (which included kids, who probably wanted the new Star Wars Rebels toys).

A lot of things can happen in 100 days. You may walk under a piano being hoisted, an electromagnetical sun storm may destroy all electronic media on earth, a zombie outbreak, ...
