I've changed two grades. I thought about Nausicaa, which I had just seen before I made the list, and decided I had gone too high. It's good, but publicenemy is right, it's quite a bit behind Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. So, I changed it from 8.6 to 8.2.
Also, I saw I, Robot again, and decided to increase it from 8.2 to 8.7. It was even better then I remembered. Although it has some flaws, I think I focused too much on them with my original grade.

Man on Fire is the best of Tony Scott's films and the best english language film of last year. Many critics seemed not to like it because of the torture scenes, but I didn't have any problem with that. Some may disagree with me on this, but torture does work, and I wouldn't judge someone like Creasy for using it when a little girl's life is on the line. They deserved what they got. That's what I really loved about this one. I understood Creasy completely.
Good point. Their hands were hardly clean.

They are mostly dramas with quite a few thrillers and actions films, but I've noticed one thing that most of the top have. I've been trying to think of it. You got me stumped, DP.
Ok, here it is: Characters die, lots of them, especially the protagonist, and especially at the end. When I was making the list, I saw it for the first time. I never realized it, but looking back at all those films, it was usually that moment that had the biggest impact, and caused be to rate the film so highly.

Maybe I have slow eyes, but I didn't catch the one at the very end until going slow-mo. My brother pointed it out to me, but I didn't go through the entire film to find all.

Yeah, it is hillarious. \:D/ Did you ever read the extra bit from Tyler at the beginning of the DVD at about the same point when they show the FBI warning?

Yeah, it was by a fortunate accident that I saw it. A few years ago my mom rented it for my little brother (then 8) because she was desperate to have some cartoon to keep him occupied. She didn't know what it was. I happened to walk past the TV at that point, and I couldn't stop watching.
