Re: CREED - 25th Nov 2015 If they went and made it another Rocky movie with Rocky front-and-center, it would just be another Terminator Genisys, and you can see how that is being received. Nobody wants to see these old guys anymore, not even in the roles that made them famous. You have to tweak how you present these icons, and the Creed trailer does that very well. I am sure Rocky will feature more as the marketing progresses, but at the moment this is what was needed.

Anyway, you are the person that said nobody cared for Jurassic World, so it makes sense that your opinions are different to every single other person on the planet.

Re: CREED - 25th Nov 2015 Yeah, reactions have been positive seemingly across the board, even from people that normally wouldn't be into another Rocky movie. The official trailer posting is also already up to 1.2 million views after 16 hours, which considering that the franchise isn't the hottest right now is a relly good sign that buzz is picking up on this. Thanksgiving weekend is too damn crowded right now (five wide releases), but I could see this out-opening all but Good Dinosaur. Rocky Balboa adjusts to $85 million now, and I think this could easily outgross that by bringing in the people that saw that movie, plus a younger audience that just thinks it looks good - I've never seen a Rocky movie before and I'm curious about this.

Algren you keep saying that about Jurassic World. How could I have said that when I myself liked the film, and most around me loved it.

Re: CREED - 25th Nov 2015 Both trailers played back to back when I saw terminator. It is a lot better without the Ice Cube/ Easy E subplot. Still not sure how much appeal it has though.

Re: CREED - 25th Nov 2015 I thought the trailer was great. Thanksgiving is a bit crowded but this could breakout. Victor Frankenstein will bomb, I dont know what Midnight Special is, but X-mas and The Good Dinosaur should both do well.

Ant-Man, the big branded Marvel blockbuster, has 400k.
Creed is going to do well. Very well. I'm thinking of doing an over $100m club for it. I genuinely think it can do that well. I think it will connect with people, and especially the urban culture.

Judging from the likes section of the page, it was only in the last week that practically all of the likes came pouring in, which is mighty impressive. It did probably help that the Rocky page with (over 11 million likes) shared the page and posted the trailer for the movie, where it's at over 8 million views. And the trailer is also already at over 4 million views on YouTube. So, awareness on this at least is insanely high, and it seems like all of it is very, very positive.
