Well, if Star Wars explodes as everybody expects and is seen as a familiar film, then KFP3's total gross might be affected, however it will still beat Peanuts.

KFP3 is almost guaranteed an under $150 mil gross. I think Peanuts will easily beat it.

With Spectre, Mockingjay and The Good Dinosaur, this would need to open to 75 million for this club to happen. It's not going to get better legs than The Incredibles with that competition.

Highest opening for an animated film this year for sure. Maybe gross too unless Minions does really explode. First cartoon I'll see in theaters since 2010 for Toy Story 3. 95 from Spectre and 75 from Peanuts.

About 15 million families still tune in for the Christmas and Halloween specials each year. Thats about 180 million worth of domestic right there (add in the rest like me who'll go cause it looks awesome and very great nostalgic memories.) This is going to be big. Overseas will be a very different story though. This film's potential is being underestimated like Lego Movie was.

Yeah, agree 100%. Despite being 3.5 months out, HSX has it a paltry $24m OW. I'm 35 and excited to see this when it opens.

Not to mention kids relate to the different characters so much, and everyone loves Snoopy and Woodstock. Even college kids love doing the different musicals and plays. It's a right of passage to watch the holiday specials like Rudolph or Frosty the Snoman.

IMO, this is not going to have the reviews The Lego Movie had, and the marketing hasn't been all that great, IMO, in comparison to the Lego Movie.

No animated films marketing ever interest me, peanuts has been great so far. New trailer is great. 355 million people WW read the strips. Has huge potential.

This will do pretty well though opening against Spectre will hurt it's chances with teens and up significantly.

Trailer was just ok to me too much Charlie Brown, I no longer think it would do $400m+ that I thought it'd do last year, but $275m+ should be doable, in.

Too much Charlie Brown? The trailer I saw on Flixster was 90% Snoopy with Charlie Brown, Lucy, at the very end. Looked great.

That was the first trailer. This one is about the whole gang, and of course it'll show a lot of Charlie.

This movie scored behind Pan, Goosebumps and Hotel Transylvania 2 in their Fall's Most Anticipated Family Movie Poll ( ) It barely scored half of what The Good Dinosaur scored.

As I've said all along, no way it makes $100m. It's too artistic, too creative, too old-fashioned a brand to connect with kids of today. For all intents and purposes, it is a stop-motion film, and it will act like one at the box office.

I'm REALLY surprised that anyone is anticipating Goosebumps and Hotel Transylvania 2, though.
