Yeah this is going to be a monster. Everything so far is looking good, attracting audiences and paving the way for a mega gross.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
$150m in December is huge, it almost doubles the record. These people predicting $200m are just fucking retards. It'll be lucky to make $120m opening.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
No film had ever opened above $15 million in an opening weekend, and Return of the Jedi opened to $23 million (despite opening on a Wednesday).
No film had ever opened to more than $22 million, and The Phantom Menace opened to $28 million (despite opening on a Wednesday).
No film had ever made over $8 million from midnight screenings, but Revenge of the Sith made almost $17 million (despite it being a Wednesday night).
Doing the inconceivable is kinda Star Wars' M.O. And this time around it's doing the "impossible" while starting on a Friday, so it's not even as handicapped as previous movies in the franchise.

Absolutely! Let hope it doesn't change its Friday release date. That way we can truely know its power on normal Fri-Sun launch. I was pissed when Lucasfilm went with Thursday opening day instead of the traditional Fri-Sun. Revenge of the Sith did $158m Thurs-Sun back in 2005 Attack of the Clones did $110m Thurs-Sun back in 2002 If they were released on a Friday those 2 would have set OW record easily

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
Sith passed the record by 10 million on a Thursday. It technically had it. Had it been a Friday, DMC never would have beat it. Hell if it opened on a Friday, nothing would have topped it until 2011 with Potter.

Re: Star Wars - Episode VII - Predictions
For some Star Wars fans, there’s no May the Fourth news finer than this: director J. J. Abrams revealed that he’s thought about killing off the very controversial Jar Jar Binks. Sitting in an edit bay at his Bad Robot production office and pointing to a frame of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Abrams told Vanity Fair contributing editor Bruce Handy, “I have a thought about putting Jar Jar Binks’s bones in the desert there. I’m serious! Only three people will notice, but they’ll love it.” wish he would

375+ 900 ww. Holy smoke. I did this in 2012. I hope I didn't make anyone else feel old. I think my 375 is too low. I feel this should get past 1 billion with all those screens in China.
