This will still easily be Avengers. By 25-30 million.

Star Wars sure has a shot. I think it will definitely beat it overall. Avengers 2 might not top 450, and Star Wars will do that for certain.

Star Wars - 100/65/55
Avengers - 85/65/50 Looks like you were closer with Ultron, let's see if your SW prediction will come true.

$50m is possible for Japan. Huge opening there. $1.5 billion could happen. Unlikely.

Re: Age of Ultron vs. Episode 7 opening day
Nah, $50 million would require a multiplier much too high and the exchange rate still at a 13-year low. $40 million is likely the ceiling, and that's giving it legs far greater than any non-Spider-Man superhero film.
It's already being bumped to the third/fourth biggest screens due to The Boy and the Beast taking the largest screens, and Terminator: Genisys taking the second largest and sharing the 3D screens with it this weekend. And then three other tentpoles open the week after: Hero 2, Pokemon and Inside Out. Needless to say, legs are likely to be cut short.
If this wasn't 2015 with an extremely unfavorable exchange rate, then it would probably have done nearly $60 million.

Re: Age of Ultron vs. Episode 7 opening day
An exchange rate is the rate that one currency is exchanging/trading against another currency.
For example, the Japanese Yen has only been worth 80-83% of the US Dollar's worth for most of the year.
That's a 13-year low, so USD (Dollar) totals for films in Japan have been quite unimpressive while totals in JPY (Yen) and admissions have still been very good (a lot of records have actually been broken over the past year in Yen and admissions).
