 Re: Furious 7
Just compare TRUE LIES with F&F 7. In the genre of action movie, TRUE LIES is a masterpiece compared to F&F 7.

Fast & Furious 7
Complete and utter shit. Probably the worst movie I have ever seen in a cinema. All the same problems as Fast & Furious 6 and Fast Five but this time with an added shit-crust layer of faux Paul Walker sentimentality. The film really wanted to ram it down every single viewer's throat that "PAUL WALKER IS FAMILY TO VIN DIESEL - PLEASE LOVE HIM"; it is touched upon in so many way loads of times, and then comes the three Walker endings culminating in a "For Paul" signing off; as if Paul Walker is our buddy so we can just refer to him by forename only. The whole ending was just sickly. This made the film unbearable, but what made the film shit was them pretty much turning Jason Statham into a pussy. He got beat up by everyone, and that obviously limited any threat the character was supposed to have, which in turn made the film pointless. Statham has a pretty great opening sequence in the hospital, but that was literally the only thing where he showed any dominance or power. The rest of the film is just him being ass-kicked by Dwayne or Vin.
"Furious 7" is basically a science-fiction film for all the logic and gravity defying shit that happens in it. There's too much to comment on (including lots of plot conveniences and badly filmed action), but needless to say I loathed it. It collectively takes you out of the film as soon as it starts happening. And who's more manly; Vin or Michelle Rodriguez? Jesus Christ, she is one ugly bitch. What's going on with her and Jordana Brewster's faces? Then there's Ronda Rousey, another manly, ugly, wooden "actress". And then the excruciatingly annoying Tyrese Gibson. Tony Jaa is wasted, and loses in a fist fight to, lol, Paul Walker. Rousey loses to the ugly bitch. And Statham loses to ... everyone. It's pile of horse shit.
The Fast franchise is the worst franchise in history.

 Re: Furious 7
I like this movie, and the whole franchise, and enjoyed it a lot. This 7th installment, I thought the first half or something of the movie was the best stretch of movie FF offered me throughout all the movies. But after that it does go downhill, not a lot, but it didn't keep up with what was introduced before.
Overall, I share a lot of the sentiments shared by other reviews here. The plot was the worst of all the films, but the action was probably the best. What puts it over the top for me in the end, is just the familiarity with the films. Especially 6 got to me, as part of a, this group of characters have a past, present and future together and I want to know more about it. Furious 7 continued that pace, and that's just what I like about it.
The movie could be better in many ways, but throughout I'm pleased with what they fed to me.

 Re: Furious 7
Saw it again last night, feel the same way about it. The last act is as unengaging as it was the first time. That said, the ending definitely hit me harder as I think knowing the song beforehand helped that.
Kurt Russell needs to be in the next one.

I enjoyed this, but it wasn't as crazy as the last two. B+
That ending got me good, though.

 Re: Furious 7
I really liked the first half, the set pieces with the mountain and the car flying through the buildings (lol) were Fast & Furious back at its thing and Tyrese's role was funny. I also thought Letty/Dom had a good movie. My main problem is the 3rd act climax, compared to the back to back huge set pieces in F6 it's such a drop-off, especially with how little impact the Shaw and Dom fight makes. It's good but if they stuck the landing it could've rated higher in the series

 Re: Furious 7
I actually thought Dubai would have been the finale. It just felt odd to have them go back to the USA. Then Hobbs come out of hospital and, well, the rest is history. It was truly pathetic.

Agree with what Shack said.
Still it's very good, and has a great ending with the Paul Walker tribute, but the 3rd act was weak in many ways.

 Re: Furious 7
The action and set pieces work really well and the story flows really nicely. You can easily tell that the addition of James Wan helps this movie a lot. The addition of Statham is really good here and while I agree that the final fight isn't as great as what came before I just thought it had enough thrills with God's Eye to make this interesting. I think its the best the series has to offer thus far and Paul Walker's tribute is handled really well.
