 Re: Annoying words used by analysts and critics. "Socko" and "Boffo" is old Variety reporting talk. I disliked it at first, but you soon learn to love it when you rely on for information. I've spent years reading old Variety issues, and these words are firmly in my vocabulary now, though I rarely use them because I feel they are old fashioned.

Re: Annoying words used by analysts and critics. Back when Brandon Gray used to do weekend box office analysis in the '90s he was really snarky in his articles. I remember him making fun of "socko" and "buffo." Oh, here's the link.
