Post Comedy 2015- Over/Under 2014
As the first comedy of the year opens this weekend, how do you think this year will compare to last year, which was kind of a let down year for 100+ comedy films.. With NATM3 today, 4 live action comedies hit 100 million, 2 of them being R rated over 150 million. How will this year compare to that? 2007 had 9. 2013 had 8 100 million comedies, 2010, 2009, 2008, and 2005 had 7. 2003 still holds the record with a whopping 12 live action comedies over 100 million. Here are the live action comedies scheduled for this year so far. I doubt all of these will have big releases, some I've never even heard of:

The Wedding Ringer
Mortdecai
The Duff
Hot Tub Time Machine 2
Focus
Unfinished Business
Get Hard
She's Funny That Way
Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2
Heart of Texas
Pitch Perfect 2
Spy
Entourage
Ted 2
Trainwreck
Pixels
Grimsby
Masterminds
Kitchen Sink
The Intern
Vacation
Scouts Vs. Zombies
Rock the Kasbah
Christmas Eve
Sisters

I think it'll be over as there are 4 films that seem pretty much locked for 100 million. And a lot of films with more potential.

The Wedding Ringer- 90-110
Mortdecai- 20-25
The Duff- 15 million
Hot Tub Time Machine 2- 24 million
Focus- 75+ million
Unfinished Business- 65 million
Get Hard- 90-110 million
She's Funny That Way- 10 million
Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2- 45 million
Heart of Texas- 45 million
Pitch Perfect 2- 75-90 million
Spy- 130 million
Entourage- 120 million
Ted 2- 170 million
Trainwreck- 40 million
Pixels- 150 million
Grimsby- 55 million
Masterminds- 90-110 million
Kitchen Sink- 10 million
The Intern- 20 million
Vacation- 100 million
Scouts Vs. Zombies
Rock the Kasbah- 55 million
Christmas Eve- 45 million
Sisters- 75 million

I would guess Pitch Perfect 2, Spy, Sisters, Ted 2, and Pixels hit 100 million, with Spy and Ted 2 at 150 million.

I don't think Entourage is a lock for $100m.

The only lock for 100 million is Ted 2. Spy is almost, but not quite.

Pixar movies are probably a lock, wouldn't you say?

Pitch Perfect 2 is going to open huge enough not to miss $100m IMO and Paul Blart could come close to $100m shitty comedies tend to make more than expected.

Entourage isn't a lock for $50M in my eyes. If we're basing this on fanbase, no. They'll have to really market the hell out of it to a wider audience.
