Best Picture - pick your favorite!
Not the one you think will win, but the one you want to win.
I still need to see Selma and American Sniper, but out of the rest, I'm gonna go with Whiplash.

Re: Best Picture - pick your favorite!
Ranking it is.
1. Whiplash ... ... ... 2. Birdman 3. Boyhood 4. The Theory of Everything 5. The Imitation Game 6. The Grand Budapest Hotel
Daaaaamn. The fact that I keep bitching about Boyhood and it is STILL my third-favorite nominees actually says a lot about this year's batch. I would not have nominated a single of those, except Whiplash. Hell, I would not have nominated Interstellar or Gone Girl, but I would still have preferred them to almost all of the nominees this year.

I have seen...The Grand Budapest Hotel, so I think I'll wait before voting. I should see everything by the end of April.

Re: Best Picture - pick your favorite!
Sorry if I'm not going to shell out $75 to see a bunch of movies in theaters I might not like just because they are nominated for an award that means nothing to me personally!

MovieGeek wrote: I want Boyhood to win. I would still love if Grand Budapest, Birdman or Whiplash won. Same here. Still, having only seen half the BP nominees, this is BY FAR the best batch of Best Picture nominees ever. (haven't seen American Sniper, Selma, Imitation Game, or Theory of Everything lol) Only way it could have been better would be a surprise appearance by Interstellar. Usually the Oscar noms make me shrug with disappointment, but having 4 out of my 5 favorite films of the year make the cut..... Unprecedented.

My vote is Whiplash as well. I can't wait to buy it and I like the soundtrack and performances.

I'm glad Whiplash made it but boy I would have loved if Interstellar had gotten in. I so enjoyed that film. I watched it three times!
