CALVARYFor your consideration in the following categories:BEST PICTURE BEST DIRECTOR, John Michael McDonagh BEST ACTOR, Brendan Gleeson BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY FUNNIEST COMEDY OF THE YEAR What do the critics say:89% on Rotten Tomatoes.. "Thanks to writer-director John Michael McDonagh's powerhouse script and Brendan Gleeson's superb central performance, Calvary earns its sour stripes -- it's a bruising beauty of a film." - Matt Brunson, Creative Loafing "Gleeson provides an emotional anchor with an understated portrayal that balances strength and vulnerability." - Todd Jorgenson, Cinemalogue.com What do I say:"Please, just watch it before voting. I urge you to watch it. It's a delightful and powerful black comedy with a fantastic script. If, after watching, you don't think it's worthy of any WOKJ awards, then at least you've just had a great two hours watching it. It really is the most overlooked film this year."

Re: 11th Annual WOKJ Motion Picture Awards FYC Thread
Two comparatively under-the-radar horror/suspense films worth a spin, in my opinion:

Re: 11th Annual WOKJ Motion Picture Awards FYC Thread
Probably the best way to do this FYC thread is for me to let you know which categories I am willing to take films into considerations for:
Best Original Song Best Makeup Best Art Direction Best Costume Design Breakthrough of the Year (before or behind the camera)
I have nothing for these at the moment. I really cannot think of anything and I am open to suggestions. So feel free to remind me of some excellence and possibly get your favourite films into my list in these categories. I will not choose them if I have not seen them, though, or if I feel they were shit. Other categories are also open, but most likely I will fill them all with my own picks.

"Everything is Awesome" for Song, Interstellar for Art Direction. Also watch some period flicks and you will have more ideas for costume design and art direction.

THE RAID 2: BERANDALFor your consideration in the following categories:BEST FOREIGN-LANGUAGE FILM BEST EDITING What do the critics say:79% on Rotten Tomatoes.. "The last half hour alone ranks it as one of the best martial arts films ever made." - Stephen Danay, Under the Radar "This time, the action scenes spring organically from the narrative, which makes them richer and more urgent." - Will Leitch, Deadspin What do I say:"This sequel is fantastic. It's a two-and-a-half hour action feast, and while it starts slow, it improves with each set piece until the end where it hits masterpiece level. If there was an award for choreography or stunts, no other film would bother challenging Berandal"

Dude...
It'd be funny if Interstellar pulls a There Will Be Blood - a shotload of noms, but misses out on a Best Picture nom. KJ would lose their shit.

THE EXPENDABLES 3For your consideration in the following category:BEST ENSEMBLE What do the critics say:32% on Rotten Tomatoes.. "An A-team of B-stars in a vanity project on steroids." - Brian Gibson, Vue Weekly What do I say:"The action cast of a lifetime. Since there will not be another Expendables film, we should honour the franchise and finally award it the ensemble praise it deserves."

The Raid 2
Best Picture Best Director Best Ensemble Best Cinematography Best Editing Best Foreign Language Film Best Sound
And in the event that it does not win any of these, a Best Action Choreography award should be invented and be presented to The Raid 2.
