 Re: Act of Valor
Possibly the worst movie I have seen so far from 2012 (still not sure if this or Devil Inside). For one, I understand these guys aren't actors but everything was so monotone throughout. I also don't see how this film is supposed to encourage joining the forces because the only plan going into a fight is "Kill these bitches." The action is too over-the-top and ridiculous that the film really falls apart on itself in the end.

C
Overbearing patriotism doesn't actually bother me much (otherwise I would hate Michael Bay and I don't). What bothered me far more was that the action, albeit seemingly realistic (but was it, really?!), still was such a bore at times. There are a few exciting moments, but overall, this is just stiff acting mixed with uninspired action scenes.

 Re: Act of Valor
Outside the action scenes this was pretty boring at times. I got all the respect in the world for the Navy Seals, but not having actual actors was the biggest problem of the movie for me. It just feels like it has no soul or no emotional core, so when all the emotional stuff is actually going on it doesn't have much of an impact. War movies like Lone Survivor, American Sniper, and even The Hurt Locker do it so much better.
