Holy smoke...tomorrow. It seems like Awards season is just a tidal wave this week. SAG and then Globes. Golly Gee!

Selma and Unbroken may not show up here given their late releases. There are always a few movies which studios didn't send out DVDs in time.

I doubt Unbroken would show up either way. It does not seem to be a major player in any acting categories.

Side Note... THE WALKING DEAD got a nomination.

That's amazing.

The Naomi Watts nomination is so random. Not that she wasn't good, but it's just so out of nowhere particularly with Murray not even nominated. I don't think anyone really believed she was the standout of that film.

Murray and Fiennes got robbed!

Keaton is looking to dominate.

Gone Girl missing here is not unexpected, but not good news either.

Outside of Pike and maybe adaptation, I don't think anyone is really expecting anything more

I wonder if Aniston will score a Globe or Oscar nomination.

For noms? Of course it will get more.

Particularly bad news is Carrie Coon missing.

Makes a lot of sense, though. Watts was pretty damn great in the film (that I literally have seen one hour before the SAG noms have been announced) and her category is much less competitive. Of course Murray was better, but he is up against so many other strong performers.

Oh, wow, Naomi Watts is nominated for St. Vincent. When I very briefly glanced at the list this morning, I thought she was swept in on a wave of Birdman momentum, but, no, a solitary nomination for St. Vincent. For Watts as the Eastern European stripper. Interesting and random.

Overall, I am pleased with these. I am glad Foxcatcher is represented. (I have this constant fear it will start bleeding momentum.) I am pleased to see a nomination for the ensemble of The Grand Budapest Hotel.

It would've been fun if Channing got a nom, it'll be tough for him to get one at the Globes as the Drama race is tightm

I wonder if Big Eyes also went under-seen due to a timing issue, a la Selma, or if they just did not go for Adams.

Every time I read Selma, I think it's that Jennifer Lawrence-Bradley Cooper drama that failed to get picked up.

Lol, a colleague from my website always keeps confusing the two as well.

Just looked it up. Must remember that Serena is the white one that nobody cares for. Selma is the black one that is getting all the recognition.
