 Re: Exodus 200m+ Club
Its probably better suited as an Easter release (but I guess they don't want to miss out on any of the academy/golden globe stuff even if its for technical awards).
Ridley Scott always has a knack for epic sword battles and high scale war. Something about high scale battles that unfortunately has not been done enough.

 Re: Exodus 200m+ Club
Doesn't the pre-Christmas December period tend to soften openings, but extend legs? The way Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, for example, opened to "only" 39 million, but ended up earning almost 190 million.

Umm, you'd think Christmas would be perfect since it's also a religious holiday. This would likely make more around Christmas too with people having more free time.

 Re: Exodus 200m+ Club
even if this opens well, it will likely fall over 50% in its second weekend against the big 3 openers. Even if it gets a big Christmas boost, 200 million looks unreasonable to me.

 Re: Exodus 200m+ Club
New trailer is awesome and I definitely see this opening to pretty big numbers. Still, quality means everything and WOM needs to be closer to Gladiator then Troy/Noah if it's going to have decent legs.
Of course I'm not expecting it to be that good, but it has to be more than just average.

I'm in. This will pull a bit less than a Narnia type box office run.

I am in, this has a chance of being the biggest hit of December if it can get the Christian crowd out.

It should do better than Noah, but I can't imagine it tripling or even doubling its gross.

Magnus wrote: TV spots during NFL games are great. This is gonna happen barring horrid WOM. Yup. Looking pretty fucking sweet. Bale as Moses is genius casting. Type of role he is a real draw in. Plus famous story? Not sure if it can open to 70 million but mid 50s look certain with a great multiplier to follow.

 Re: Exodus 200m+ Club
I'm thinking it will do $175m or so which would be great really. Its just hard to tell with Christmas as it could easily have great legs off a strong opening.

I'm thinking it will be lucky to make $100m. I'll go with $85m.

 Re: Exodus 200m+ Club
It looks like it could be really good, but Ridley Scott has been kind of all over the map. $200 million seems a little too steep. Maybe $150 million.
I see it finishing around $125-$140 million.
