 Thursday Previews/Numbers
$1.6m for Dumb and Dumber To last night. http://www.thewrap.com/dumb-and-dumber- ... ox-office/I see it missing it $30m with that number. $10m Friday, IM of 2.7-2.8. Still a solid OW regardless.

 Re: Thursday Previews/Numbers
Hopefully so. The preview ratios have been trending downwards and you'd expect frontloading with this.

Whoever wrote that article is clueless:
The Universal comedy is expected to win the weekend with $30 million, unseating Disney's animated family film “Big Hero 6.”
Nope.

 Re: Thursday Previews/Numbers
I'm not sure what to think but at first glanceI think that's a great number actually. I think 12-14 million OD is still within reach. I think people are forgetting that a lot of 50+ crowd are interested in seeing it. Though at my preview last night the 16 year old kid behind the counter said she couldn't wait to see it either (Only Annabelle and Interstellar have had bigger previews post summer this year)

 Re: Thursday Previews/Numbers
I still say it's good for 30+. Which is really good for a sequel to a movie that came out so long ago. Bring on Romy & Michele's High School Reunion 2.

I'd rather another Goonies, especially if Brolin and Astin get in there.

THR says DDT heading for $40m weekend. I take it with a grain of salt, though - it's only 4:30 EST on Friday. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/b ... ire-747517

 Re: Thursday Previews/Numbers
Boxoffice.com: Sources tell BoxOffice that Dumb and Dumber To is currently on pace for between $36 million-$39 million.
Getting almost $40 m would be a major win, and far outpaces Anchorman 2.

 Re: Thursday Previews/Numbers
Anchorman 2 did shed 13 million's worth of demand on Wednesday and Thursday, though.

 Re: Thursday Previews/Numbers
Either way, getting anything above $30 million is terrific for this film, IMO.

 Re: Thursday Previews/Numbers
Yeah 35m+ would be right on target for Dumber, even slightly higher. The nostalgia factor is certainly there and it has the ability to attract younger auds as well.

 Re: Thursday Previews/Numbers
I ushered today and DDT did pretty well. The only showing it sold out was a 9:20 in an 81 seat theater but the others were pretty full as well. Also, there were people of all ages there from little kids to old people.

 Re: Thursday Previews/Numbers
After D&D2 and Ninja Turtles, the early 1990's are very trendy now. Expect to see more properties from around that time come back.
With a Baywatch movie coming, wouldn't be surprised to finally see a Saved By the Bell movie considering most of their careers have stalled.
Also think a Clueless 2 film would do very well (or a re-make).

 Re: Thursday Previews/Numbers
New it! 1.6 was gonna be good for 12+. It's playing well too old in addition to younger audiences to be that frontloaded

 Re: Thursday Previews/Numbers
DD2 totally did great. I truly expected it to flop. Seemed like no one was interested. And the marketing wasn't really good IMHO.
