I doubt 250 million but I think a final total over 600 million is looking good.

This film has more general audience buzz then any other film then Star Wars right now.

You must mean since IM3 since that out opened TDKR by a wide margin. Obviously there was more anticipation for that. You are right that BvS is not as anticipated as TDKR, though. TDKR was coming off the Dark Knight, while BvS is coming off Man of Steel.

I doubt B V S has anywhere near the general audience awareness as the TA2.

Not yet, sure...but it's fucking Batman and Superman. You don't get larger than those in the superhero world. Once the DC marketing machine pumps into action, I am sure BvS will have no problems in exceeding the awareness of The Avengers 2.

However I do agree the Hype for Batman vs Superman will be far more intense then TA2.

However we saw in 2012, intense hype does not mean anything.

Hype is not measured only in intensity, it should be measured in how wide it is and I think the Avengers has a bigger appeal to the family crowd which is not very noticeable to us on the Internet.

That trailer was pretty wicked, but, I don't think 250M+ OW is possible in 2015. That would require a record number of screens, combined with near total screen saturation on OW.

With that said, I still predict a massive OW, just lower legs. The novelty factor is no longer there. You can only have the novelty factor once; after that it's no longer a novelty. So having the superhero team together again in a film isn't super special anymore.

I'm predicting 220M OW/550M domestic/950M OS/1.5B WW total.

The novelty factor wont be a issue overseas.

I think TA2 will increase in every overseas market apart from some European ones.

LMAO IM3 had 3D and TDKR the shooting. STFU. TDKR clears 190m easy w.o the shooting. Thats without the enormous 3D boost. And 1 year of inflation.

Word. TDKR also destroyed IM3 in home video sales.

If we've had a few more 200 million openings then I would be more inclined to say it's possible but for now I'm gonna say no. It's weird how we toss around numbers like $150 million openings happens all the time but in reality we've only had 8.

IM3 was not as big as TDKR but can people stop biasing against 3D films saying they have gigantic boosts.

3D films have really low 3D % these days.

I can already see TA 2 opened to 215 million and people will say it sold less tickets then TDK on this forum as it Got boosted "massively by 3d"


Anyways I think the big boost will be overseas for the film. The film will likely increase 100 million alone in China, so a billion overseas is sort of a done deal.

Come here again when one SOLO superhero movie from marvel beats TDK, The Avengers had a team of 6 and 5 films before it.
