 Re: Best Actress 2014
My current list Jessica Chastain "A Most Violent Year" Felicity Jones " The Theory of Everything" Julianne Moore "Still Alice" Rosamund Pike "Gone Girl" Reese Witherspoon "Wild"
Just below 1. Meryl Streep "Into the Woods" 2. Amy Adams "Big Eyes" 3. Shailene Woodley "The Fault in Our Stars"

 Re: Best Actress 2014
I feel like A Most Violent Year comes out too late to have a big impact on the race. And its distributor is A24. So, yeah.

 Re: Best Actress 2014
The Fault In Our Stars isn't really the kind of film that would normally generate a best actress nominee, but I really hope Shailene Woodley can make it. I thought it was a great performance.

I just think Pike is a bad actress. More of a looker, not a performer. I don't know why you're even predicting that she get in. The film is not even out.

Amy Adams vs. Moore would be fun... although I think Big Eyes won't do well critically but we'll see.

 Re: Best Actress 2014
It won't happen, but Kristen Wiig being nominated for The Skeleton Twins would be amazing. She is deserving. Bill Hader is equally deserving if not a hair more but Best Actor has way more competition sadly. At least there's always the Golden Globes.

 Re: Best Actress 2014
Yeah, those two are much more Golden Globe MTV Award material.

 Re: Best Actress 2014
I don't even understand why you are trying to say considering Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader both have straight fan bases (that sounds so stupid) and they both received rave reviews from straight reviewers.

 Re: Best Actress 2014
Her chances are obviously slim to none, but Mia Wasikowska deserves a nomination for Tracks.
For now, I predict:
Amy Adams, Big Eyes Felicity Jones, The Theory of Everything Julianne Moore, Still Alice Meryl Streep, Into the Woods Reese Witherspoon, Wild

 Re: Best Actress 2014
Even though I am predicting the nomination for now, I am also slightly suspicious of Julianne Moore and Still Alice. I know the Indiewire types are going, "OH MY GOD, MOORE HAS NEVER WON AN OSCAR AND SHE SLAYS IN STILL ALICE," but it is a small movie, and it seems Sony Pictures Classics is going to give it a qualifying run, not a proper and splashy platform release.

 Re: Best Actress 2014
I think IF Amy Adams is great in Big Eyes, it will be hers to lose. She is by now more overdue than Moore due to being so damn consistent over the past ten years and being nominated over and over and over again. It also seems appropriate, that her first win will not be for a supporting role.
