Yeah, I do the same thing many times. I put off seeing Sideways for a couple months, but finally did see it this week. It was quite good; better then I expected.
The Bourne Supremacy is just so cool. The pulse-pounding car chase near the end is I think the best I've ever seen. It's fun to watch the way Jason Bourne operates, and the story is great. I didn't realize the first time I watched it, but on DVD, I saw how great the score is. I think it's really effective at helping to make the film thrilling, especially during that car chase.
I can't wait until The Bourne Ultimatum. It seems that everyone involved is commited to ensuring that the quality is there, as they did with TBS, so, I highly anticipate it.

The only one that I wouldn't have near my top list will be Swordfish. All the other ones are good to great. I'd place American Beauty a lot higher though.

Basic Instinct is still the best erotic thriller I've seen. I'd have both Gump and ROTK in the top 30. All great movies.

Yay! I actually really liked scream. I was scared, I'm not ashamed to admit it. Much better than I know what you did last summer, which came out around the same time. True Romance is a great movie. It seems to be number one on so many people's lists. I don't like it that much, but I do like it. If 8.3 is about a B+, than yes, I agree with you. Gump is good. People pick on it now, but its a good story. Meh, ROTK was better than TT, but not as good as FOTR. Enemy of the State was good. That's the kind of suspense movie i like. Broad conspiracies having to do with the government, or huge court cases. Mask of Zorro was a fun little action movie too. I wasn't bored one bit, and I believe it was the movie that made Zeta Jones a big name here.

Gump was really good. I actually didn't expect to like it simply given the type of movie it was, but it was extremely well made.
Enemy of the State was also a really great thriller.

Like the first two, I didn't like many aspects of how if differed from the books, but it was still so well made. I did think it is the best of the three.

I thought Swordfish was one of the best action films I've ever seen. Suspenseful and entertaining with great action and special effects. A good twist at the end as well.
I think my bias against American Beauty is that it was too much of a comedy. It didn't take itself seriously enough, at least for my tastes. Still great though.

The reason I actually loved Scream was because of the humor and wit. Honestly, I thought it was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. That part where she ran up the stairs, or when the guy was watching the horror movie saying "behind you, behind you". Best of all was the discussions about horror movies in general, and who could be the killer. This is how a spoof should be done. \:D/ Take Scary Movie on the other hand which dumbs is down, hardly has anything clever, and inserts penis jokes. In any case, Scream would still have been a good movie without any of that.
For True Romance, 8.3 is at least an A-, probably an A given that it's in the top 6% of all movies I've ever seen. This is just one of the many Tony Scott films that I love. In fact, on that list above there are 3 of them. Revenge is also in my top 150. Then there is Man on Fire which I have not yet reached. I even like his weakest films (The Fan).
Crimson Tide and Enemy of the State are great thrillers. I also like a thriller about a government conspiracy, but even better is a mutiny on a sub with nuclear war as the possible outcome. For True Romance, I think more then anything I liked the characters. Also, Tarantino also made a difference for both TR and CT and it really shows in the dialogue.
Mask of Zorro was very engaging. I really thought the score was great. I hope they live up to the movie with the sequel.

Well, I was going to say alot about how much I actually like most Jane Austen adaptations, and that Mystic River was good because I think Eastwood got the Robbins/Hayden couple perfect, but screw it, all I have to say is:
This here's Miss Bonnie Parker. I'm Clyde Barrow...We rob banks. =D>

Wow, you liked Hotel Rwanda that much? I think You said 8.3 was already an A, so this is hitting A+ range huh? Sadly, the only other ones I've seen from this list are The Crow (which was pretty boring to me) and Quiz Show (which I love and have seen several times). I've heard good stuff about Family Man though, that its a bit of a parody of Wonderful Life? And Cage is on a gold streak lately.
