Looks like Chef will break $30M. A great little run it's had.

Huh. Saturday was 32 for estimates right? Oh well, still crazy great.

58.4% drop for Lucy is pretty decent.

and looks like Edge of Tomorrow will reach 100 million, nice.

You can't really keep making Purge films without it getting stale quickly. I think three would be tops.

It will probably have at least two more theatrical sequels. They'll keep them going as long as they're making good money. Then after that will likely have some Direct-to-DVD sequels.

Good thing about The Purge films vs. the Saw films is they have the potential and scope that each one can be different.

It's too bad they couldn't combine the two. Mr. Rooney slapping lea thompsons awesome ass would be epic.

Could Guardians somehow manage to reach 300M? It needs the legs of the "first" Apes, something difficult but not impossible.

11.4M on Monday according to Rth, meaning an opening week likely above 130M (possibly even close to 135). If it can get a 45M 2nd weekend, it will be at 175+. 3.7x = 300M. Considering August dailies and the LD boost, a 3.7 multiplier is reachable 'just' with 40% drops, followed by a strong first weekend of September and good holds until October due to the weakness of competitors and the strength of WOM.
Sounds optimistic, but reasonable.

It's an original movie, so I would actually love to see it happen, but I don't think it will. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Expendables 3, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For to name a few will kill its chances. I doubt it will even win the Summer.

All those three movies could easily be non-events.
