Again with the guessing when the score is already wrong.

Well, England could still theoretically advance, provided Costa Rica and Uruguay get completely owned by Italy and England manages a high win against Costa Rica.

That's never happened before. When a team loses their first two games, they're going home.

Actually they don't need them to be completely owned. As long as Uruguay loses to Italy and England wins, even by just a goal each, England would be ahead of them in goal differential. And they just need Costa Rica to lose to Italy by a score of 0:2 to be ahead of them in total goals; if Costa Rica loses to Italy by 1 goal, they just need to beat them by 2 goals. So they are actually in as good a shape as a team could be for losing their first two games.

 Re: World Cup 2014
Hm, right. Still a lot that does need to happen. I wonder if Costa Rica could actally pull of a huge surprise and advance.
For today:
Italy 2:1 Costa Rica France 2:1 Switzerland Ecuador 2:0 Honduras

 Re: World Cup 2014
Italy can beat Costa Rica and England can beat Costa Rica, and England can still go out.....because if Uruguay beats Italy, then Uruguay and Italy both have 6pts and England and Costa Rica would have 3. If I were Italy, and I beat Costa Rica tonight, I would let Uruguay beat me to stop England from progressing...unless they think that Uruguay are the tougher team, then it pays for them to try and make it easier for England to progress by beating Uruguay.
It all just depends. We'll see how it goes, but it looks 99% sure that England is packing its bags.

Italy 4:0 Costa Rica
I don't give a shit about the other two games. I feel today could be Italy's day to show that they can score as well as defend.

 Re: World Cup 2014
Costa Rica! So we're looking at CR vs. Ivory Coast. Netherlands, if they can hold off Chile to win Group B, should be quite happy for that development.
We could also be looking at Brazil vs. Chile and Columbia vs. Uruguay. Brazil will be going through South America qualifying after all after not needing to as a host nation.

 Re: World Cup 2014
How many times have we had 2 goals in very quick fashion in this tournament? Crazy.

 Re: World Cup 2014
We are averaging 2.92 goals per game. That'd be the highest since 1970.
