 Re: World Cup 2014
Maybe. But probably a moot point, I really don't see Portugal losing this.

They'll lose but they'll make sure to lose by 3 goals or less. Also, if Germany has 6 pts going into that match and USA has 4 pts, then Germany will have already locked up the group and will likely not go at full strength for the entire match. Yep. Also I don't see Germany trying to embarrass Klinsmann too much. There is also his knowledge of Germany style. Can't see U.S. losing lopsidedly, probably just by one goal. It could also become a moot point in that U.S. may very well beat Portugal. This is not a good Portugal team to begin with, struggling to get out of Europe and struggled in pre-tournament friendlies as well.

I'm as happy as anyone that USA won....but I'm also a realist and they just did not play well. They could not possess the ball and looked tired near the end of the game.

You shouldn't be expecting much from your nation in the sport of football. Be happy with what you get. Criticising a win is reserved only for England fans.

 Re: World Cup 2014
I actually thought the US looked great in the final 10 minutes or so (85'-95').
It was the other 84 minutes that were rough. But whatever! USAUSAUSAUSAUSA!!!!!

 Re: World Cup 2014
Considering how BAD Bradley played, I think the USA was actually very lucky to even have had a chance at a Draw yesterday.

 Re: World Cup 2014
The game got a 7.0 overnight rating. Which is VERY big.

Sundays match is at an ideal time. I expect it to be the most watched US soccer match of all time (using Univision, ESPN, and streaming combined numbers). Agreed. It's going to be record breaking.

 Re: World Cup 2014
If Belgium loses, the second place in our group could be preferred.

So far Mexico is getting crushed. But it's still 0:0... So...
Yay?

 Re: World Cup 2014
Mexico has turned it around a little. Still not much offense from them, though.
This might end up as a draw.

And so it did. Mexico's goalkeeper was amazing.

 Re: World Cup 2014
With teams like Brazil, you just have to put 10 men behind the ball at all times. This is what is known as the Italian Job.
