 Re: June 6-8 Predictions
It'll be interesting to see how reviews end up being. If they're good like I suspect they will be, that'll go a long way towards expanding the audience.

I don't expect reviews to be great, but they should be solid enough to maybe draw in an older audience interested in a film that's not all fight and 'slosions and juvenile humor.

They need to not update so frequently. The temptation to F5 the shit out of their main page is intense.

 Re: June 6-8 Predictions
Yeah I was going to do that "Night Before Our Stars" thing but opted not to since it's $25 a ticket.
And that's amazing for it to be #1 already.

 Re: June 6-8 Predictions
I presume the Night Before the Stars earnings will be dubiously folded into the film's Friday total.

That will just make it drop that much harder on Saturday though. I wonder if it will drop as much as Sex and the City did on it's opening Saturday (34.4% drop).

 Re: June 6-8 Predictions
I could see it being like the Wl-Mart previews with Man of Steel, where they're added to the film's gross but as a Thursday-only gross, since all of the screenings are strictly on Thursday only before midnight (as of now anyway).

The Walmart previews were a totally different animal. Walmart bought all those tickets, but didn't sell them all. The Night Before Our Stars is basically like buying a special edition of the movie with extras at the theater. The tickets were still sold for a viewing of the movie though. Plus there are all the other regular showings of it Thursday night.

 Re: June 6-8 Predictions
I wasn't around for the Walmart/Man of Steel thing. What happened?
Why would Walmart even buy tickets for a WB movie?

 Re: June 6-8 Predictions
Looking really good and selling tickets so far ahead would mean good things. People could still buy tickets of Saturday which is one of my theories that Saturday's have been better these days.

 Re: June 6-8 Predictions
It is a live Q&A with the stars, the director, and the novelist which will lead into a screening of the film. It costs $25. It is up in the air as to how its earnings will be reported.

Edge of Tomorrow reminds me of Cowboys & Aliens, which opened to 36.4 million.

 Re: June 6-8 Predictions
Reviews for Edge of Tomorrow though are much better than they were for either of those films, and I think that kind of thing can help out a film like this - I don't think World War Z would've done nearly as well as it did if reviews were harsher. It could add a few million to the opening weekend, which would in turn add a lot more in the long run.

 Re: June 6-8 Predictions
It'll be cool if both Edge of Tomorrow and Fault in Our Stars stay above 75% on RT by the weekend. Right now they're both at 90%.
