Re: The Tennis Thread - French Open '10
I missed the damn women's final this morning. Fudge, but apparently Schiavone was the winner. I was happy with either player winning.
The William's sisters won the doubles final. Apparently they are 13-0 in doubles slam finals. Impressive. Their first french doubles was 11 years ago against Hingis and Kournikova. Wowie.

They could die on the court the way it's going.

The match was ended at 59:59. They'll continue tomorrow. And if they finish tomorrow, the winner goes to have the next match too!

No, they suspended it after it's 59-59 due to darkness and play it tomorrow.

Re: The Tennis Thread - Wimbledon '10
I first heard about the match when it was 50-50 and my jaw dropped. Then when I got home I found out it had been suspended at 59-59. The highlights are just ridiculous. It's not like they weren't trying to win as one of them had 4 match points and Mahut was on the verge of going down a break multiple times but was able to dig himself out of it many times. I would agree that this is the match of the year and the tournament regardless of what happens. This is a classic. Four hour 5th set??? Hell...

I love it that people are cheering any time someone goes 0:15 on an opponent's serve. Just goes to show how incredibly monotonous this has been.

GODDAMN IT! The moment I switch over to soccer, Isner wins.
Congrats to the American, and it's just a an awful shame he is going to lose fairly soon.

First real big upset on the mens side today as Roddick loses 9-7 in the fifth.
Women's quarters tomorrow, with the only interesting match being Li Na vs Serena Williams.

Re: The Tennis Thread - Wimbledon '10
Why does Venus always blow matches to no name players? This girl has done diddly this season and has lost multiple times in qualifiers apparently. Ugh. It's just vomit inducing.
Wake the F up Venus and if you can't get a first serve get the second one in for god sakes!

Re: The Tennis Thread - Wimbledon '10
Just embarassing.
82nd Ranked player blows her off the court 6-2 6-3.
I think Serena just earned another GS title today.

Re: The Tennis Thread - Wimbledon '10
I listened to her post match interview and she has a nice accent. She sounds like a nice girl. Said she loves playing there, she believed she could beat Venus since she had a win once before and gave it her all.
Nice job, but I'm still bummed. Venus needs to hit the nearest pub because she's going to remember this one for her extremely bad play.
