Legend of the Guardians is indeed a great film (except for that ridiculously unwieldy title) - - it's my favorite of Zack Snyder's movies.

Watchmen is great.

300 was solid...in 2007. It has NO rewatch value.

Dawn of the Dead was good but has always been overrated.

Sucker Punch is one of the worst movies ever. Sitting through it in a theater was excruciating.

And Man of Steel is shit. Its popularity on this forum in particular is baffling because it is certainly not well-liked among the general public. And it was one of my most anticipated movies of last year too. The only good things about it were the score and a few of the performances (Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Amy Adams). Otherwise it was ugly and soulless (and visually hideous).

Snyder can direct an action sequence but he has no idea how to tackle the more emotional aspects of the story to really involve the audience (this, IMO, is where Nolan excels).

First impressions:

Watchmen: Great. Read the graphic novel first and still loved what he did with the film.
Guardians: I, too, find it criminally underrated. I love fantasy and with a bit more ambitious screentime, it could've been another fantasy epic- except of course no one else wanted to watch it, which was depressing.
Sucker Punch: Um, yeah, no didn't really like it. Girls were hot, but what storyline? Nothing. I don't know. Forgettable, don't remember much.
300: Eh...I watched it 2 years ago. Overrated I guess, but again, can't remember much of it.
Man of Steel: Rather dour and awful.

The Dark Knight Rises isn't that bad. Of course it's quite bad and supremely overrated even though it wasn't even as well received as the first two.

Might as well forget it exists. TDK ends fine by itself.

Looks like it is one of the most well liked superhero films from last year, that's the reason why more people wanted to have the movie in their home, "it sold many more bluray/dvds than Iron Man 3, Wolverine, etc." If it had not been well liked among the general public, nobody would have purchased that shit

Yeah I quite love Watchmen and 300 - but MoS was just uninvolving and disappointing. Before seeing it I couldn't wait for Batman vs Superman but now my interest has cooled until I see a trailer.

That thing also had massive price drops - Amazon was selling it for $7.99 at one point. Iron Man 3 is Disney and because of that the Blu-ray will never be that cheap.

$7.99 or not, people do not purchase shit movies. As it outsold Iron Man 3, it means it is well liked.

Man of Steel is Snyder's best. Watchmen is close but I rewatched it and it doesn't hold up that well. I don't hate any of his movies though, I even like Sucker Punch.
