 Re: Production Budgets
LOL. Sparrow thinks he can tell the difference between a $60m historical disaster blockbuster and an $80m historical disaster blockbuster.

Concur with David on Universal's investment. The overall number for Non-Stop also sounds fine.
Son of God should easily turn into profit.

 Re: Production Budgets
Yep. I am impressed that they were able to finish 300 in $100m but there aren't any known actors even Eva is not THAT big of a draw.
Standard budget for Peabody and the animation does look good in there. It should be profitable for Dreamworks.

More like Epic/Turbo-numbers. In Germany it disappointed as it did in several other markets. I am guessing $350-400 million worldwide TOPS as opposed to $580+ million for The Croods.

Fine for Muppets they should be profitable for sure but I don't think they will get $55m domestically.

Fine for both. Absolutely no problems for either movie to get into the black.

Didn't the first Rio only cost $90 mil?
That's a little too big, imo.

Rio's budget is fine as I believe it will do great in OS markets. Great for Oculus as well.

 Re: Production Budgets
Hmm $130m might be on higher side for Rio2 for a Blue Sky animation. It doesn't really look THAT good as well. Could this $130m include the marketing budget as well ?
Its a good number for Draft Day as well.

 Re: Production Budgets
In regard to tent-pole genre films, particularly sequels with extensive action and computer-generated images, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' budget is very modest.
Jupiter Ascending is an enormous gamble which could easily explode in the face of Warner Bros.
I am bit surprised, too, by Edge of Tomorrow's budget. I figured it cost around 115 to 120 million, similar to Elysium.
