Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Saw it yesterday, It was pretty awesome, Second best Marvel film Liked everything on it except the lacking of dialogue from the winter soldier
Easter Eggs fit perfectly and finally comedy was not annoying and forced!
Best film I've watched in months and it does not compare to the Thor 2/Ironman 3 shitfest
I hope it does well on BO and I also hope marvel keeps hiring the team behind this movie for future projects,
CA2 stands as one of the best comic book films of all time, and that's coming from a DC fanboy

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
I know no1currs but the way this and agents of shield fit... It's like you need to watch this week's episode beacuse it just leads into the movie. This episode pretty much explains why there's a certain agent in the first mission that's already online. Plus the storyline of the movie was pretty much started on this episode.
My mind was blown just to think about it.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
This is the best movie in the S.H.I.E.L.D franchise, and also easily the most action-packed. I think I enjoyed it even more than the first Iron Man. It's incredibly fast-paced, fun, tense and exciting, the comedy doesn't feel lame and forced, and quite a bit of it is really touching as well. I loved the cast and the respective relationships with one another that developed, and Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson had great chemistry. It very much plays as a sequel to the first film and not Avengers too, which was a pleasant surprise. It's also easily the darkest of the movies in the series so far. Such a good time at the movies and miles, miles better than Avengers. Can we seriously just skip the sequel to that movie and go right into Captain America 3? (Though I have to admit the post-credit scene teasing that movie was pretty cool). A

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
After digging Thor: The Dark World, I guess I got a bit cocky - - 'cause what in the hell was I thinkin' that this might be a good movie!?!?!
Captain America:The Winter Soldier is as dull as sidewalk vomit and despite reams of plot is as obvious as it fresh hurled odor.
The attempts at humor are so straight-laced that any laughter is a mere afterthought.
The acting is truly atrocious, though I primarily blame the lunkheadedness of the direction.
Pure unadulterated fattening slop for the masses.
-3 out of 5.

Why didnt Pierce electrocute Natasha BEFORE she leaked everything? What the fuck...
Certainly better than either Iron Man sequels. Evans and Johanson are really good and story is a billion times better than any Marvel film.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
I enjoyed Winter Soldier, but it's not my favorite movie in the series. My biggest complaints are some lame forced dialogue from Falcon, who was otherwise pretty cool, and the annoying fact that nobody except Winter Soldier could hit Captain America with a gun, despite THOUSANDS of shots being fired at him throughout the movie.
Here's my list as of right now...
1. Avengers A 2. Iron Man A-
3. Captain America: Winter Soldier B+ 4. The Incredible Hulk B+ 5. Thor B+
6. Iron Man 3 B 7. Thor: The Dark World B
8. Captain America: First Avenger B- 9. Iron Man 2 B-
By the way, of the 5 trailers at my showing,
Lucy Amazing Spiderman 2 X-Men Days of Future Past Malificent Guardians of the Galaxy
I took away two things..
Disney shouldn't have attached the Malificent trailer to this film, and Guardians is going to be bigger than I initially thought.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
CAPTAIN AMERICA THE WINTER SOLDIER
This was a great leap in quality from the first picture while continuing to advance the overall storyline that Marvel has going. All the principle actors were great. I even thought Agent Hill was good here. The "Neighbor" is an interesting addition. I wonder her role will be in CA3. The plot was very good. Kept my attention throughout and had turns you didn't see coming. Come on, the council member at the end? I thought this is one badass old lady. Come on already! There was just enough comedy in the film as well to go along with the dark overtones. This Hydra is like a damn as real Hydra that you just can't kill. I like how they put that into play here. Overall, I was very happy with picture and I'd rank this right up near the top entertainment wise and plot wise with any of the best Marvel pictures we've had so far. The destruction of all those carriers at the end was bordering on over the top but whatever it was all good in the end.

A few other things.
I continue to miss midnight premieres. These 8pm shows just aren't the same.
Also, I think the 3D in this film is actually very good and benefited the film. That's rarely the case.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Winter Soldier is a glorifies hitman with little screen time, even less screen presence, and even fewer lines. I cant believe the in the title when he has almost zero significance to the plot. Falcon saves nobody and is a huge pussy despite being very likable. His duty in the finale is fly around getting chased by missiles and then have his wings destroyed instantly in a fight. He doesnt even win the office match, rather he waits for the building to take the guy out and thus save his ass. Magnus wrote: and one flaw I think with having this MCU: if all these characters exist, why the hell aren't they calling each other when the stakes get really high? The end of CA has tens of millions of lives at stake and Capt America doesn't even bother to contact Tony Stark? I feel like that's high enough stakes to contact him. Said the same thing on the previous page. The issue here is they will all be compared to the Avengers and as a result, the threats will always feel weaker. "oh my god! we need to destroy these ships! Lets come up with some crazy complicated plot involving our weakest powered heros even though would just 1) Call hulk and have him smash the ships up, 2) Call Iron Man and have him blow the ships ups, 3) call Thor and have him do his lightening thing with the ships. Instead we will send essentially powerless Captain America up there just because we need it to be more dramatic. These Marvel films are all, quietly, so fucking dumb. Avengers knew it and ran with it ala ID4 so it didn't matter. When they try to be too serious ala IRON MAN 3 or this film, thy usually fall flat. Hopefully Batman Vs Superman is more of a character study ala Andrew Kevin Walkers than "save the world" type deal because after it, theyll have trouble matching the threats.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Welp. We go from Marvel's worst 6 months ago to one of of Marvel's best here. Whirlwind.
I enjoyed the hell out of this. I think the only thing I would say is that despite this being Cap's movie... Black Widow and even Nick Fury leave more of an impression on you.
I'm gonna see it again but for now I think I'm gonna say this might be my favorite flick from this universe. so for now: Winter Soldier Avengers CA: The First Avenger Iron Man Thor
The Incredible Hulk (I hardly remember this though) Iron Man 2
The Dark World

Teasing something to set up something else don the line. And then when you get ther, it's just another tease for something else. MCU is basically the movie version of LOST This quote captures that phenomena: Quote: The flicker of recognition dances on Barnes's eyes for a second too long, so his shady handlers strap him down and, once again, wipe his memory clear in a routine that seems to fill the mecha-assassin with something strangely resembling glee.
No other scene in the entire Marvel series has come closer to approximating the cyclical, regressive thrill these movies seem to give their sizable audience, who by now have to be at least fleetingly aware of just how samey the films have all become, but who still exit the theater giddy after catching a glimpse of some minor character who promises to figure into the next installment. Reacting like trading-card geeks shrugging off an entire pack's worth of doubles but for the single new find, gone are all memories of the current film's inadequacies and formulaic banalities. Like that, the movie they just watched has become a warmly welcomed commercial for the next in line. If they handed out Academy Awards for most effective post-end credits stingers, Marvel would be running the table like Harvey Weinstein in the late '90s.

The only truly funny thing in the whole movie... I wish there could have been a whole lot more exploration of his adjustment to living in the future.
