Shame that this forum doesn't have a public poll option. That would help a lot with poll trolling like this (FOUR F's, seriously?).

 Re: Veronica Mars
I reckon non fans would enjoy it, it ramps up the stakes very well the further in you get. that said I'll assume the shafting of Piz is acknowledgement fans hated S3? I never saw it but its obvious.
Oh but yeah, cracking movie enjoyed it.

 Re: Veronica Mars
Piz was hated by a lot of diehard fans in the third season mainly because he broke Logan and Veronica up. As a character by himself he was fine, and I actually liked him A LOT in the movie and felt bad for him at the end. But I'm also a fan of Chris Lowell.

 Re: Veronica Mars
As much as I didn't like Logan on the show I have to say I liked an adult, more mature Logan quite a bit. Actually really loved the Logan/Veronica scenes in this movie, especially the big one where they finally get together. Loved him carrying her up the stairs and tucking her in. I do really like Piz though and felt bad for him. He's a good guy.

Definitely a season's worth of a story. It was entertaining and the actors fall back into their characters easily (though have aged worse than others). I have binged through the first two seasons in ten days prior to seeing the film. I think giving it a perfect A is about as ridiculous as giving it an F. It is a very solid B/B+-flick, but it never really feels cinema-worthy, more like a solid episode/compressed season.

 Re: Veronica Mars
But I didn't give it a perfect rating. I gave it an A vs. an A+. Anyway, obviously mine and the opinion of other fans would be a bit biased. If you aren't already a fan it's probably a B-/ B/ B+ movie. But it was just so damn exciting for me seeing these characters back and I immensely enjoyed it. It was everything I could have hoped for. Enjoyed it even more the second time oddly enough. If I hadn't seen the show I don't know what I would have thought. Obviously wouldn't have been as good then. If someone actually watched it and explained why they gave it an F then fine, but you know those F's are just people trolling.

I had a chance to watch this the other day. If it happens again (quite likely), I will not pass it up.

Veronica Mars has been in the top 10 a lot since it was up for pre-order when the film hit theaters. When it wasn't in the top 10 it was hovering just outside of it. It's clearly going to do decently for a smaller film like this. Which isn't unexpected as all of the fans will buy it. I assume it can do 5 Million in sales or so. Not the first week obviously but over time.

Fans of other franchises won't pre-order because they know they can buy the film anywhere upon its release (there is no dire need to preorder). Being #3 in this list means nothing, and "hovering just outside" the top ten isn't a good sign either. For it to make $5m on DVD/Blu-Ray, I agree, it would be ok, but I doubt it even gets there. I see $1.5m tops.

I agree with you that it has a fanbase that is very likely to pre-order it, but it's not like they won't be able to purchase it anywhere. Like Son of Batman both are WB releases. My Wal-Mart has a poster display for it when you enter/exit. Anyway, here's a Blu-ray review: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/64116/ve ... movie-the/I would certainly recommend you check out the show before watching the movie Algren. I can't imagine you liking the movie if you don't.

 Re: Veronica Mars
To watch a TV show, you have to invest a great deal of time to it. The movie will be my only exposure to this world, and if I dislike it, then it's a bad movie. No movie should be made just with its fans in mind. If it was, then I guess that's why it did so badly. In any niche movie, there has to be at least some attempt to appeal to non-fans or other demographs.
Anyway, I'll post my thoughts when I see it. I'm going to watch it (as I do with all films) with an open mind.

 Re: Veronica Mars
It's not that it can't be enjoyed if you haven't seen the show, but it is much better if you have. I'd at least recommend watching the first few episodes to get a feel for things before watching the movie.

 Re: Veronica Mars
That's not going to happen.
a) I'm in China. I can't just so easily go and grab the box set from the local Wal-Mart. b) Do I really want to waste my time downloading the first few episodes? Will there be enough seeders for such a niche and old show? c) I really don't care for the show that much. The only way I will watch the film is because my friend downloaded it and I suggested that we all watch it.

So you've seen the show?

Might be more apt to say you have not seen the series because you don't care to.
