 Re: Moonrise Kingdom
Even I, the esoteric Bradley Witherberry, didn't out and out love Moonrise Kingdom - - Wes Anderson's best film remains The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, though I have every hope he'll still top it down the road...

Lack of any compelling plot or characters, lacks the beauty of images that his other films have, the score is standard, and his god damn camera movement becomes so god damn repetitive. I'm smoking good pot, and I have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. This is the most wrong you've been since maybe the gladiator.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

 Re: Moonrise Kingdom
I loved it. Anderson's magnum opus IMO. His most focused film visually, in writing and in audio (the music is used sooo well here). This is a spectacular auteur piece with the director on top of every sensual moment and choice
I actually felt this was an ANTI age of innocence film. Suzy and Sam are corrupted by the events and people who raised them. They have become older than their age because of the emotional disturbance. The rest of the Moonrise Kingdom "world" isn't innocent either, from the fucked up Murray/McDormand (+ Willis) relationship to Snoopy getting killed to electroshock therapy. The movie has the visual feel of a happy go lucky time but in reality things are kind of fucked and broken. That's why I think it's brilliant

 Re: Moonrise Kingdom
I really don't like Wes Anderson. This movie didn't change my opinion at all. He must have been one hell of a weird kid (not that I would have suspected otherwise). It's a miracle The Fantastic Mr. Fox actually turned out to be a great film. Anderson shouldn't be making live action movies. It just annoyed me once again.

Yes, he needs to stop producing live-action content because one uptight German dude isn't a fan.

Strong A
Loved Moonrise Kingdom, it keeps getting better as the story progresses. The entire cast is exceptional.

BJs Grade:
B+
Went in not knowing wyat to expect, first half was slow and odd, 2nd half was absolutely great, it all rounded out to a good movie. Norton, Willis and Swinton helped drive a lot of the scenes, and the two mains were pretty good as well.
