Looks like it will out gross the original overseas.

Re: 300: Rise of an Empire INTL
It could still end up being frontloaded but that is a great start for it. How many markets is that number from?

Re: 300: Rise of an Empire INTL
Just checked it was released in 58 markets that includes all major markets except for Japan(June) and China (no release date yet). It will depend on its holds from here on, might not do HUGE if it is frontloaded.

Re: 300: Rise of an Empire INTL
It making $400+ million worldwide should be reason enough to greenlight another sequel.

Re: 300: Rise of an Empire INTL
First one did $245m INTL and the 2nd one opened in most markets below the first one, despite 3D, IMAX and 7 years of inflation...

Re: 300: Rise of an Empire INTL
Well, the openings I looked at so far just don't scream $400m yet, especially without knowing the 2nd weekend drop it will have domestic and INTL...

Re: 300: Rise of an Empire INTL
NFS releasing in OS markets this close might also hurt its chances to reach $400m. Still I believe if it releases in China it should get past $400m WW. It could get a sequel but they would have to cut down the budget for next one.

Re: 300: Rise of an Empire INTL
I think 400 won't happen, even with a release in China.

Re: 300: Rise of an Empire INTL
I think it will get $100 million domestically and it should get $45-50 million from China. I'm guessing that $50-255 million from the rest is not that hard...

Re: 300: Rise of an Empire INTL
While this part was good but it doesn't really scream for another movie even though they now have a continuation built around the story and they should try and move off of that stupid title.

Re: 300: Rise of an Empire (INTL)
$70m from the whole week after its opening must have been a huge decline everywhere. Don't think this will get $300m for current markets which means $400m is not happening with just Japan and China.

Re: 300: Rise of an Empire (INTL)
That's close to $37.5m for the week and close to 47% drop from last week. Don't think it will do more than $50m from holdovers. Should increase overall with the help of Japan and China but don't see it getting past $320m at this rate.
