Added new week numbers and the actuals of last week as well. Chippy you did get #2 but the gap between you and Jon is quite BIG.

All I know is with the first estimates, I was ahead. And with each estimate after that, you gained more and more. Everything moved your way.

I was going to ask... because I saw you "missed" a game. And you never miss games.

There is no archive for that.

Not sure what happened. There might be a problem when submitting the information like you have a , instead of . or some other special character. And maybe you didn't notice it but aside from that let me check with Karl to post something here.

Awesome mata. I'm gearing up for a return as well. I'm aiming for sometime in March. Life has really gotten in the way for me for awhile.

Unfortunately Mojo's derby demise really scattered the community of predicters to the four corners. What is really needed to get everyone back and build the ultimate predicting game is a grand central platform. I don't want to count KJ out but it seems unlikely that this site is ever going to attract most of the old players. It doesn't appear that Boxoffice.com cares anymore about a game outside of the forums. I don't see it happening on IMDB or Mojo, any time soon, either. I tried to apply to IMDB but they did not seem too interested in expanding their movie data products - they seem to only care about making what they already have work well for mobile users, and whatnot. I think there is a serious lack of vision going on there.

I wasn't too disappointed that they weren't interested in my ideas because I would frankly rather build my own competing site (especially ever since what they did to Mojo's users), where I would have the control over content. I'm confident there is plenty of room to build a competitive movie data site that would ultimately attract a bigger derby audience than Mojo's old one. I wouldn't try to compete with other forums like this or BO.com or with providing basic data which IMDB and Mojo have fairly well taken care of. I won't say too much but I have a basic vision and write down notes once in awhile for the kind of site I want to build, but due to resource needs it's not going to be fully realized for quite awhile. I might start it in the near future and add the pieces I want to it over time, but it will take a long time to build up to where I would ultimately want it to be, since it would eventually require a team of people to build and thus involve paying people. I do have a couple of friends though with serious tech expertise who are willing to help out, so I am hopeful that I put it together eventually.

Bottom line: one way or another, eventually, I want there to be another big derby game (and I don't want to count on someone else creating it). In the meantime, I'm glad KJ has one and thanks Jack for the consistent admin work on it.

I am glad Ryu that you are thinking in the right direction. Also sad that KJ wasn't able to attract many people outside of this forum, when it first started I thought this will be BIG but never-mind, even with a small set of people here I do like the predictions here cause the resulting numbers are just great we have some really nice talented folks in our forums.

I hope to see both of you (Ryu and mata) in Derby soon

I'm just curious as to where all the people who used to play the Mojo derby went.

Sadly it appears a lot of the old Mojo predicters just dropped off and lost interest in predicting because there wasn't a big enough game left to be exciting for everyone. A lot of them either weren't aware of KJ or perhaps more likely just didn't want to start from scratch at a new/different or smaller forum. Many of them followed Shawn Robbins (ShawmMR here, who last posted a couple years ago during the BOM debacle) to his reboot of the BOM forums at Boxoffice.com, where a derby reboot was promised for over a year but never happened. A lot of them just predict in various games within that forum.

Ryu, I agree with a lot of what you said. It's part of the reason I made Box Office Seer, to try and provide a central site for box office games. I haven't recreated the derby there yet, but it's on the long term agenda. If you know of anyone interested in predicting, help me get them playing Total Madness, if I can get enough players and activity, a lot of fun stuff can follow.

Thanks Karl for the continued efforts! I've been out of predicting mode for a while but look forward to joining in some games soon. I'll try to keep notes of any thoughts I have about how to attract more interest.
