So Dallas Buyers Club is much stronger than initially thought. Imagine if Jean-Marc Vallée shows up at the DGA.

Another miss for the Coens. Surprising to say the least.

The "Original" category is farstronger here than Adapted.

I imagine American Hustle and The Wolf of Wall Street will win these.

Dallas Buyers Club is pwning the guilds so far. I'm starting to salivate over the thought of a Jennifer Garner shock!nomination! and the Internet melting down as a result.

Her got another guild as well. Looking very promising there as well. Still wonder if Scarlett Johansson could sneak into the BSA lineup.

I am slightly surprised by both narrative winners. I thought the awards would go to American Hustle and The Wolf of Wall Street.

oh come on, Captain Phillips screenplay isn't what made the movie.

It is more deserving than August: Osage County, Lone Survivor, and The Wolf of Wall Street at least.

Before Midnight clearly should have won, though.

Yeah, definitely don't American Hustle winning BP now with the loss here, and it could indeed win nothing at the Oscar.

Sure as hell isn't more deserving than The Wolf of Wall Street.

AH really was riding a wave of buzz opening within weeks of CF, where Lawrence was everywhere. That may have given the film huge momentum and praise into the Oscar nods.

When people are stepping back though, it seems it wasn't considered at the same level as Gravity and 12 YAS. I still feel as though the race is too close to call.

Eh. It is not too hard to write scene after scene of the same bad behavior and profanity without much actual insight into financial crime. If there is any magic to The Wolf of Wall Street, it comes from Scorsese's camera and DiCaprio's bold acting.

Plus much of Wolf of Wall Street was improvised. This is where I actually find the nomination overrated.
