In your opinion, beyond any consideration of what "will" win, etc., which film deserves to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards?

I still need to see 12YAS and Her and maybe Captain Phillips. The others don't interest me.

I voted Gravity.

I did! I very much enjoyed it. But I thought Gravity was slightly better.

Just happy it was not included in your "does not interest me" category.

I'd make a case for all six of the films I've seen, but overall, I'd give it to Wolf of Wall Street.

I've only seen Captain Phillips and Gravity, and completely agree with your ranking here. I voted Captain Phillips. If I really wanted to, between my two local theaters, they're playing Her, Wolf of Wall Street, Nebraska and American Hustle. None of those are movies I'd normally see in the theater though since I can rent for free when they hit the home market and theater viewing probably wouldn't add much to them.

If Gravity starred Judy Dench, would it have been the best picture frontrunner? Wish a sci fi movie could win best picture.
