Um? Couldn't you go through Lecter and me since we did the awards last time? How do you know we didn't want to do them again?
Lecter and I started the tradition, and, well, just like those who took your version of Survivor, we kind of wish you asked us before just declaring the awards as your own...
Actually, torri, if tradition exists from BOM, Mike has tenure with these awards.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you guys were put in charge of this for every time we do it. I didn't even know who ran the first one or that there were set people for doing this. I apologize, I should have asked first. I just wanted to take the initiative if people were interested in doing another one now. And no offense, but you guys didn't start the tradition, this started back at BOM, and then many different people have done it from year to year, and it migrated here.
PEACE, Mike

I don't think they were done very well last time, I'm glad for the change. Many of Goldie's complaints, such as the people running it should vote early, were valid.
And as to Lecter -- I'm not trying to start some flame war, I think he's a basically nice guy, but he couldn't even be bothered to count the votes in his Oscar contest, so I don't think he should be selected for this.

Thanks Archie for the recommendation! I'll certainly be happy to help out with counting. I agree with Goldie that requiring the counters to vote within the first few days after the process starts will solve a lot of the concerns. That's what Mav, makeshift, matatonio, and I did for the movie awards, and it worked out well.

I'm shockingly siding with Goldie on yet another issue here.
whorino, technically, you brought the tradition here from BOM (with permission, I don't know), and people have done it randomly. I don't remember Mav doing the movie awards at BOM, but he did it here. MikeQ should be allowed to do this without permission.

Lecter and I started the tradition, and, well, just like those who took your version of Survivor, we kind of wish you asked us before just declaring the awards as your own... Nothing personal But just because they were run one time, does that give you guys the exclusive on them forever??? Just asking. As I think a compromise, should be considered.
Hey Z, Yes what is that 4 in a roll - See after the BS got cleared out of the way, I could finally get on a roll. LOL.
But not to get me in trouble with someone else - I mentioned a compromise.

And if I knew you would be that easy after you accepted my offer of drinks to celebrate "GOLDIE", I would have done so a long time ago.

Okay, so this is what I have so far:
Host: Undecided (Is anybody interested in this position? Basically we're looking for someone who is ready to make the awards ceremony as interesting and entertaining as possible. We probably won't get a definitive host until the ceremony day is decided upon, since the host has to be able to make it.)
Counter: MikeQ. (People so far trust me, so if it ends up being okay, I will count the votes, as I purposely dropped myself out of contention so I could count votes fairly and not have an effect on the outcome. When people are counting votes and eligible for awards, it usually pressures people to vote differently. If people disagree with this, then I will of course get more counters.)
Speech Writing & Presenter Organizers/Promoters: Chris? lovemerox? xiayun? Dr. Lecter? torrino? They all expressed helping out. Basically they would organize getting people assigned to each category to write a speech for them, like we did with the movie awards, and they can help out with whatever else they'd like. Xiayun can help me count votes like suggested if people want another counter.)

Deserted Island Award (Awarded to three men and three women, this award is for you to vote for what 3 males and 3 females you would most like to be with if you were stuck on a deserted island with them.)
Honorary Award (Awarded to someone by Eagle, who was the last winner of the Honorary Award. Basically this will become a tradition, where the previous honorary award winner awards this to the next person.)

We need more categories, although I need to think what to suggest. 21 + honory doesn't seem enough to me.

Im offended by the "Smartest Poster" and "Most Credible" poster categories; since I am neither.
However; i suggest a "Biggest Jennifer Garner Fan" category for good measure.

Best Conversationalist is another category we could add. There are just those certain posters that are so easy to talk to and have a conversation with because they are good "conversationalists". I think it's a good, unique category.

Most Loveable Poster?
Favorite Poster? (doesnt have to be the best ... but your personal favorite?)
I think just Mike Q counting ballots is fine. I also agree on Goldie's statement to vote early.
With regard to date ... Memorial day weekend would probably work best. I think this should be a twice yearly event. Once memorial day weekend ... and once sometime about 6 months from now. I think the forums were in their infancy durring the first ones, and thus this really isn't too soon.
Goldie's idea on the honorary award sounds good as well, just let me know what you decide.
Thats all for now.

Y'all ought to just shoot that dog and become exclusive to this place. It's never going to thrive again.

I actually like best reviewer IF dolce is disqualified . Otherwise she is going to win hands down and thats no fun, we could just disqualify all site reviewers (me, dolce, zing, rouge, and snrub) and let it be based more on the your take section and who gives the best reviews ... which is how it should be! Who's opinion do you follow sort of thing ... then again ... maybe dolce shouldnt be disqualified ...

Most Controversial Poster could be interesting. I like the "Most Loveable" category. The "Favourite Poster" category I think will overlap too much on "Best Overall Poster", because essentially, when people are voting for Best Overall Poster, they are voting for their favourites. Best Film Reviewer is an excellent category. There are many people who organize their opinions very well when reviewing films in the forums, plus there are some great reviewers for the site! "Most Changed Poster" might work. Do you guys find that there are posters that you think have changed from before? Hmm...
Oh, and should we go into the usual Biggest TV Fan, Biggest Sports Fan, Biggest Oscar Buff, Biggest Video Game Fan categories? I always find nobody really cares about those categories, and that the voters just go the respective forum and look and see who has the most threads or posts there, and then just lists their name. I dunno.
Cool, good job guys!
Here's an updated list of categories. Let me know if any should be cut, or any added that I didn't think would work, but you do.

Oh great, because we haven't had enough awards shows already, so we need another one!
If TonyMontana doesn't sweep this, I'll be mad! Well, I won't care enough to be mad, BUT if I did care, I would be mad :swear:
