Listen Up= AWFUL.

Indeed, but minus Raymond, CBS isn't exactly strong in the comedy department next season. Two and a Half Men is all but guaranteed to anchor the comedy lineup. King of Queens will be entering Season 8, so that won't be around forever either. I guess the best bet would be this:

Monday
8pm The King of Queens
8:30 Yes, Dear
9pm Two and a Half Men
9:30 Still Standing

But seeing as how that would leave zero new comedies, that won't happen. And, to make matters worse, "Yes, Dear" is far from stable this season in the ratings.

Bobby's the younger brother.

During the show's conception it was Jack who was supposed to turn out to be president, and the show was just called "Jack". However someone thought it would be interesting to see the brother who you didn't think would be president become it, so Bobby became the future president.

I don't think the revealing of any details lessens my enjoyment of watching the show. So I know that Bobby becomes president, this just makes me want to see how the events of his youth shape him to the be the man that eventually wins the presidency, the same would have been true for Jack. Regarding Jack dying, while it kind of puts a dampener at the end of the pilot, it doesn't really effect my viewing of the series. He's not going to die anytime soon and the show is about how Jack & Bobby's youth shape them into the men they become.

From the beginning I liked Jack more, and there were certain shots and situations that were presidential in nature, much more so than a young Bobby, who for the better part of the first half was just crying and wheezing. As the show somehow continued, Bobby got less annoying, Grace got more interesting and Jack stayed the same. I think the show should get back to centralizing on the McAllister's, because I like that stuff the most, and from the looks of spoilers for upcoming episodes that may happen.

.

I'll chime in on the Jack & Bobby thing. I watched the first episode because I thought it was a nifty sounding premise. Hated Bobby. Despised Grace. Loved Jack. Then at the end of the episode we learn pampered Bobby would become the President and marry Courtney, and the Jack would die young.

Click. That was that for my Jack & Bobby viewership. Plus, I'd rather watch Lost ;)

I think I'm going to be lucky this year, because none of the shows on this list are among my faves for a change. I think this has been one of the best TV years in a long time, because in general good shows are getting good ratings, (with some exceptions such as Arrested Development). And the worst of the cheesy reality shows sunk.

Update. Of the shows EW was considering, all were canceled except for Bernie Mac, Arrested Development and Less Than Perfect. Interesting.
