I started following the box office closely after Phantom Menace came out ... because I started working at a movie theater that very same weekend (98, I think?). Best high school job ever. I was always interested in how much money movies were making and would look at the newspapers every week to see what the previous week had made. Probably started with Jurassic Park? I remember wondering if Last Action Hero was going to beat JP ... haha. But I didn't start looking at daily numbers until I started working at the movie theater.
I think I joined BoM in 2001? Or maybe just read the forums until then? I don't even remember. I started reading here in ~ 2005, but was in the middle of college. Didn't end up joining until much later.
