Didn't you hear that? There is a video of Streep blowing Jack Nicholson online.

If that's the level of Libs' insults, she has a lot to learn.

All I will say is that I choose my words very carefully, so it's probably best to take only what is written, not implied.

Amy Adams is getting a lot of raves. I'm close to predicting her again. Just don't know who to push out.

After her third Oscar she is definitely no longer considered overdue and there seems to be no hype for her performance. Adams, Thompson, Blanchett, Bullock and Dench seems like a very solid lineup.

I would lean towards tossing Meryl too, but I feel like if there's somebody you should never bet against, it's her. I dunno.

 Re: Best Actress 2013
Yes push out Streep. She's had an amazing career but is this performance in AOC really one of her best to force herself in the BA slot. I think the Academy should focus on newer talent now.

 Re: Best Actress 2013
So I guess it's gonna be Adams, Blanchett, Bullock, Dench and Thompson. I don't think Streep is getting in unless that film ends up going well with nominations. Poor Amy Adams though; she might finally get a lead actress nom and lose to a past winner.

 Re: Best Actress 2013
Unfortunately, right now Streep is looking stronger than Adams. I'm hoping she'll pull an Angelina Jolie/A Mighty Heart, butscoring noms at most precursors, but missing an Oscar nod.

I wish Dench could move ahead in the race and win. At least she is all but assured a nomination.

 Re: Best Actress 2013
If we are talking about who's DUE, then definitely Amy Adams. I thought she was amazing in American Hustle, but I also really liked Cate in Blue Jasmine. That was a equally great performance.

 Re: Best Actress 2013
Doesn't Cate just cry and sob a lot?
I think Amy Adams displays a lot more actual emotion and interplay with other characters.

I think Amy Adams displays a lot more actual emotion and interplay with other characters. She does a full range. She puts on a fake persona throughout the film from being a wealthy uppity wife of a rich husband to being an absolutely lost person like the ones you see on the side of street corners begging for money. She isn't very likable either because she's so condescending to her sister throughout. Amy is definitely in the more memorable film though.

I do want to see Blue Jasmine. But it probably won't be until after the Oscars.
