Yes a third one is almost guaranteed. I don't even know how it did THAT good the first one was bad the second was outright terrible.

That's kind of pitiful, actually. It only made $112m overseas. Kind of proves how unpopular Sandler is overseas.

That's pretty inaccurate Algren. Most SNL comedians are tank overseas. Only extreme cases to the contrary. Only Eddie Murphy can really say at some point he had really strong OS pull. Not even Will Ferrell is big. His biggest hit OS is still Bewitched at 63 million. Anchorman 2 will change that though. Even Mike Meyers with his peak at Austin Powers was 106 million OS outside of Shrek.

Adam Sandler has had 6 100+ earners overseas, and one 200+ earner. Hotel Transylvania is actually is his biggest overseas. His pull overseas is quite impressive actually.

No one cares about Anchorman in Eastern Europe. Probably in many countries of Western Europe too. In Russia it will go direct-do-DVD.

Aside from hardcore film fans no one has heard of Anchorman here.

Ben Stiller seems to do all right overseas. 74 million for Tower Heist. 162 million for Little Fockers. 235 million for Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. 77 million for Tropic Thunder. 90 million for The Heartbreak Kid.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty should do well overseas, particularly since it has a visual-spectacle side.

I can say that Ferrell/McCay productions have had healthy increases over each one.

Anchorman- 5.3 million
Talladega nights- 14.8 million
Step Brothers- 27.6 million
The Other Guys- 51.2 million

I think Anchorman might be able to get to 75 million, if all goes right.

And $84 million for Along Came Polly. Ben Stiller is a draw, no question about that. Will Ferrell is as much a draw overseas as Steve Coogan is in North America.

The first three, yes. That's about the kind of increase/numbers we are looking at.

The Other Guys had Mark Wahlberg and The Rock in its marketing campaign, both big overseas draws.

Anchorman 2 will perform well in Australia and UK. The English-language markets basically. I could see it making up to $30 million from those two alone. But the rest won't amount to more than $10-11 million.

Sandler and Stiller are both good draws in OS as far as comedy is concerned. Both of them are though way lower than Murphy and Carrey at their peak times.

Why would you just compare Sandler to other SNL comedians?

Compare him to all other stars, just the same as you do when talking about his salary, his domestic grosses, everything else.

You have to compare, the popularity SNL has had on their films. Grown Ups is the definition of an SNL reunion film with James replacing Chris Farley. I believe there was 18 writers and performers that were on SNL in Grown Ups 2.

Bill Murray, Chase, even Akyroyd when they were huge stars never were big overseas.

Compare all comedians to Jim Carrey. Above Jim, you're good, well below and you're not. End of.

That's ridiculous thinking because almost all comedians are below Jim overseas.

If they are below, it's because they are not as popular. Not as good.

If you win $1 million in the lottery it's good, if you win $500,000, it's not. Is that right? Not good and not as good are two entirely different things.
