Terrific for The Best Man. Universal giving out an "official weekend estimate" after one day seems so pointless, though. Really? You can't wait for Saturday business?
Not bad for Thor.

From Pandya: Quote: #BestManHoliday earned rare A+ CinemaScore grades across all 4 quadrants. That's Avengers level! New assembly of heroes here. Dayum.

not bad for Thor but considering the utter lack of competition it had and the fact that it faces Catching Fire and Frozen soon it is nothing really to write home about

BOM Friday NumbersThis will be Captain Phillips' best weekend hold yet, and its fourth sub-33% hold in a row. It'll also be passing Zero Dark Thirty and The Social Network this weekend, with plenty more gas in the tank. It's not as OMGEpic/Massive as Gravity, but it's still doing excellently.

Damn Last Vegas is only down 22% from last week. It's going to have a solid multiplier.

Pretty great drops all around, actually. Well except Thor, although even that's not so bad.
Thor: -67.1% Last Vegas: -21.5% Bad Grandpa: -32% Free Birds: -30.9% Ender's Game: -40.5% Gravity: -25.5% 12 Years a Slave: -28.1% Captain Phillips: -19.3% About Time: -28.7%

 Re: Friday numbers (Nov. 15)
So possibly just a little over a 55% drop for Thor 2. Not too bad considering all the panic around those dallies earlier in the week.
Great for Best Man Holiday aswell, but it looks like Nikki was getting ahead of herself once again. It doesn't look like it expanded much outside the target audience throughout the evening, but that could still change over the weekend if WOM is really as strong as that cinemascore suggests.

The signs of a big break out have been there for two weeks. Awesome for Last Vegas, it's not the big breakout I thought it would be, but it deserves the legs, the movie was hilarious. Good rebound for Thor, typical blockbuster legs, I doubt it'll hit 200 million though. Should still pass the original though.

 Re: Friday numbers (Nov. 15)
Never understood why people was expecting mid to high teens or low 20s for The Best Man 2 when all the signs of a break out wag there. The first become a classic on DVD and this is all fans have been talking about. A+ Cinamascore looks good for part 3.
Also based on the reaction to the trailers last night Ride Along and About Last Night will both do 20+ opening weekend. Kevin Hart is on fire.

The Best Man adjusts to 55 million. Even with a 27 million opening that this is looking at, I don' think it'll go much higher than 65-70 million. It was the perfect time for this to come out. Well done Terrence Howard throwing a phone!

 Re: Friday numbers (Nov. 15)
With the holidays and A+ score and a $30 m + opening weekend, Best Man Holiday would have had a chance for $100 m if it wasn't for competition. It isn't impossible at this point though.

I'd say it is impossible. With Christmas themed movies targeting the African American audience opening every couple of weeks there's just no way it will come close. Maybe 70 Million though.

NEBRASKA made 41,460 in 4 theaters on Friday for a per-theater average of $10,365. It will have the smallest averages of an Alexander Payne film since Election and Citizen Ruth.

But really, I doubt he would have said. There's really no need for him to have said it and he doesn't have a history of this or anything. Stallone is just TMZ's latest victim.

 Re: Friday numbers (Nov. 15)
The Best Man Holiday has nothing to do with The Hangover. It's not even remotely similar. I fail to see the comparison.

Group of long-term male friends who get together now and then for a romp. Except the white dudes get shit-faced and destroy everything in their path, while the blacks have mildly Christian themed romantic complications.
