It wouldn't surprise me actually. No competition, doing well on Fandango, solid preview showings. I don't believe it until a more reliable source says it, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Looking at sell outs I would not be shocked if BMH come close to 40.

People thought 35 million was not happening and now look at it. Never say never. Madea goes to jail made 41 million in just 2k theaters.

It's based off Nikki without her sources, 13 Friday can become 9 real fast.

True but based on pre sales and sell outs that 13 million is more likely to become 14-15. The signs of a big break out have been there for two weeks.

It would have to match Madea Goes to Jail type hype to get that $20k PTA. That's not happening.

Not saying it will but at this point anything can happen. The movie is already flying past expectations.

It could do that if it makes between 10-11 million on Friday. 3.4-3.7 multiplier isn't out of the question.

The audience for Thor 2 is a lot younger than it was for the first film, as shown by the exit polling and the strong IM from last weekend. A strong increase today isn't impossible, especially since it and Free Birds are pretty much the only family options right now.

Variety is guesstimating $30-35 million for Best Man Holiday.

I think $37 million is coming from Disney because everyone is reporting it without even any hint of Friday number.

It certainly isn't, but it would have to be really dramatic, like 190% and then another 65-70% tomorrow. My projection yesterday wasn't very good, because its Sunday drop is much more likely to be 45-50% than under 40%.

I really don't understand why we haven't gotten a horror film with a primarily African American cast. It hasn't happened in a while anyway (and what was the last one, Bones?), not a widely released theatrical one. Get on this!

It would be fine, but unspectacular. I was expecting (hoping for?) absolutely sterling holds since it such a charming, sweet movie.
