12 Years a Slave August: Osage County Before Midnight Lee Daniels' The Butler Philomena (Runner-up: The Wolf of Wall Street)

Ooh, if Philomena is nominated, my dream of Academy Award nominee Steve Coogan will come true.  I did not know he co-wrote it.

Before Sunset was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, too. It is because they are sequels, and the credits say 'based on characters created by Richard Linklater and Kim Krizan.'

At this point, 12 Years a Slave is the only screenplay that is absoluteöly guaranteed a nomination here, right? I mean Captan Phillips, Before Midnight, Philomena and The Wolf of Wall Street all have very good shots, but none of them is a lock, IMO.
